Im hopeful that the universal negative reaction to this gives the Pac-12 some pause, if they figured this would be good enough for them to avoid lagging behind the other power leagues. Perhaps expansion with Central inventory is still a good thing.

I don't think this alliance (or announcement) says anything about their potential expansion, other than anything done by any of these three conferences will likely be worked out together, behind the scenes.

What was said in the BIGPACACC alliance conference really didn’t help these rumors. Even went as far as saying they have no current plans to expand.

How to tell everyone your life is worthless, and you’re afraid, without telling everyone your life is worthless and your afraid.

I wills think with everything that’s happened in last 15 months in Iowa city, you would be smart enough to keep your mouth shut. But you’re too stupid to even do that.

You are out of your damn mind if you think the Pac is just going to sit this out.

It's mostly ridiculing the alliance as toothless because there are no signed contracts. What they neglect to consider is that signed contracts would likely have to list details that none of them would want getting out right now.
Contracts that largely can be toothless as well.

HE SAID THAT UT AND OU WERE WORTH 14MM PER TEAM. THAT WAS ON A PAYMENT OF 37MM. I HAVE MENTIONED THIS ABOUT 8 TIMES, I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE MISTATING IT.
I was one of them you referenced. I did misstate you in a past thread. Sorry about that. However, I think you are mistaken on the $14 million for OU and $14 million for UT. Some quotes below:

--------------------------------------------------------
"Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said on Monday that each remaining school in the league can expect to earn about $14 million less per year without the Sooners and Longhorns."

“Last year we distributed about $35 million in revenue,” Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby told Texas senators at the Aug. 2 Texas legislative hearing in reaction to OU’s and Texas’ move to the SEC. “Of that, $28 million was television revenue.” Bowlsby meant distributions to individual Big 12 members. So roughly $28 million in TV revenue to OU, Texas and Oklahoma State.

We estimate that OU and Texas participation in our television rights agreement is something approaching 50 percent of the value...” Bowlsby said. “So you can roughly look at at least $14 million per school in a new day without similar replacements for the two that are leaving.”
--------------------------------------------------------
I can see where you mentioned $14 million per team. But I think Bowslby meant "per team" as in the remaining schools. If it was $14 million for OU and $14 million for UT, then we are looking at $7 million ($35 million - $28 million) or $0 million ($28 million - $28 million) for the each school depending on how you look at it. That seems way too low.

Where is this said? Pretty sure the statement Warren made about not messing with contracts was in reference to games scheduled. In other words, these conference teams aren't going to cancel scheduled non-cons under contract to schedule them with each other.

Over Dave Wannstedt? Yes. It’s funny how some people will believe a 3rd tier sportscaster who has no access to the ACC because they are not even a part of fox network over what the actual commissioners have said.

So you don’t believe any reporting that has been done so far then,

With the constitutional crisis upcoming, this also seems like the early makings of a framework to replace an NCAA that losing ground by the day. Tournaments, shared values, alignment on governance, etc.

I’m not so sure that we will see the full demise of the NCAA, but it is clear that the current leadership is toothless, inconsistent, and losing influence. This move puts a large group of players on the same side of the fence.

Some people have made comparisons for the conferences as WWII powers. Big 12 as Poland is about as accurate as it gets. If it’s as loose as it seems, this Alliance might just end up being the UN.

Good point on the travel. The Northwestern game would be a sellout. They would be thrilled. They average about 37,000 and their stadium holds 47,000.

That and a weekend in Chicago would be a fun tri....Oh...wait...never mind.

But still a good point.

I heard that NW wanted to expand and grab TCU and East Carolina so there would be at least one game per year where the stadium is at least half purple.

I can dig it. One of my favorite CyHawks of all time was 2001 when it got moved to the end of the season.

Well that wasn't by design unfortunately but it was nice to play that game late in the season that year. With all that is going on in the world right now fingers crossed nothing crazy happens on the 20th anniversary too.

Why would Wannstadt say this if it’s all ********? Out of all the people throwing pop I wouldn’t suspect him to join in only to be possibly completely wrong.

I took it as subtract 14MM from the average team payout. This year is 40.4 so if they are gone we can expect 26.4 each then.

I didn't hear anyone explicitly say they have no plans to expand. But even if they did, they cannot publicly say they are looking to take teams from the B12 or any other conference. The goal was to project stability. I actually found the comments from the ACC commissioner saying the B12 matters to be encouraging, because by extension, it means that the schools in the B12 matter in the world of D1 college football.
