This is from the PAC 12 guru on the west coast John Wilner. I would think he has some sources, if PAC expansion was serious. The Big 12 being snapped up from other leagues doesn't look good. It looks more like they want to give lip service to "the Big 12 matters" and then turn around and leave them out of decision making, scheduling and try and further distance the P4 from the B12.
Quote from ACC commissioner:
You cannot very well form a partnership designed to “stabilize a volatile environment,” in the words of ACC commissioner Jim Phillips, then implement a strategy that creates instability. You cannot very well adhere to the belief that the Big 12 “matters in college athletics” (also Phillips), then actively participate in its undoing.
Quote from PAC commissioner:
You cannot very well say “the things you can achieve by expanding are things we can achieve by the relationships we announced this morning” with the alliance — as Kliavkoff told Sports Illustrated — and then turn around and expand.
Wilner in the article:
In addition to the lack of obvious economic and institutional fits, there is another piece to consider — perhaps the most important piece of all: There is zero indication the Pac-12 presidents and chancellors
want to expand.
***This goes to the cultural and academic fit between the leagues and the premise I have mentioned that the PAC 12 won't expand unless paid to do so from ESPN, maybe FOX on a lesser basis.
The alliance created with the Big Ten and ACC is designed to add stability to the college sports landscape. That makes it tougher for the Pac-12 to justify expansion.

I really hope fans of remaining B12 schools, AAC & MWC tune out of national broadcasts involving the P4 leagues to show CFB it needs to remain a national sport and be more inclusive.
