This doesn't apply in this situation. Rece has enthusiastically rooted against us going back to last year and Herbstreit has peddled Campbell leaving pretty hard in the past. Not to mention they work for a company that tried to bury our conference

Once again people outside of ISU don't understand why Campbell would stay here when other historically better programs want him. Just because we understand it doesn't mean others do, they see a historically ****** program that coaches use as a stepping stone and figure this young good coach will do the same.

I totally get what your saying. And I agree. I should care less than I do. But when Gameday and those elitist, shitforbrains guys are up there bad mouthing us on, like it or not, one of the main college football platforms, it’s gonna chap my ass because that goes into a lot of living rooms/phones/etc across the country.

Yeah, I'm going to follow that up with CMC's chosen phrase for this year: "You can either be someone or do something". I'd say he's very clear in which one of those he's going to choose for himself.

Even the laziest of the talking heads should be able to pick up on that by now.

Can we get one for Rece Davis?

Davis has taken the top spot for worst offender on ESPN. Herbie has been somewhat nice to us since after his Campbell comments.

I think he more so doesn’t want to get slaughtered on social media again by us.

I think they're *gulp* right. Time to beat iowa. The only way to make these guys shut up is to live up to our own expectations, because they don't expect us to.

I don’t understand the doublespeak of Oregon. On one hand, our Fiesta Bowl win is scrutinized because we played Oregon in Covid year. On the other hand, now Oregon is #11 and posed for a big year. They had 5 guys drafted last spring. What am I missing?

Maybe. If we lose another close one to TOE (we won't) and then run the table, what's the Rece narrative then? Cyclones still have to prove it to him?

I understand why people are hesitant to get on our bandwagon but I'm not upset about for two reasons:

1. Being a fan of statistical analyses, I understand trend lines are calculated from individual observations that are above or below the average of all observations; by definition you have downs to off-set the ups. We have had some great ups (improvements) in a row causing our trend line to look like a rocket launch; at sometime some below the trend will begin to occur. What we don't know is, was last year's performance extremely high above the average due to Co-vid affecting other programs rather than ours, which would cause an equal performance this year to fall below the new projected trend line or did last year's slow start pull down last year's performance thereby depressing the new projected trend line such that this year's performance (if consistent) should fall on or over the projected trend. We don't have enough history of consistency to safely project what's going to happen next.

2. Rankings at this point of the season mean absolutely nothing, let's talk after six games.

As soon as they start showing love to ISU, it means that they have value, and ESPN cant have that...

I actually saw this show on the DTV guide, and said, "nah, it will be dissappointing." Thanks for confirming.

Also I got a kick out of they love, love, love Oregon. Well sort of... they actually love, love, love... MONEY!

Perhaps Rice Davis will be at the OU-ISU game in November. We'll have the opportunity to shut him up.

I'm not sure if it bothers me personally as much as it makes having a conversation with someone that only watches other conferences that can't in any way take on the idea that ISU has a genuinely good thing going.
