I'd be OK with that. He'd pick ISU. His fame has worn off lately but unless they are bringing in Dan McCarney or some former ISU player he's still a better pick than some random celeb like Eric Church was.
I could see.a.segment on Carson King and a brief interview....but not celebrity picker. His story is great.

It will probably be Tyrese Haliburton, or maybe Talen Horton-Tucker.
I would say there's roughly zero chance of either. Outside ISU circles nobody knows who either of them are.

I'd be prepared to be disappointed by some random celebrity.

Regardless, this is absolutely fantastic exposure. I'm guessing Matt Campbell is fine with the spotlight as it relates to recruiting.

Parking was a mess last time. We were backed up on Duff hours in advance to get parked in the GA lot and pretty much got parked less than an hour before they went on air. Hope they are better prepared this time.

The appearance of GameDay meant that parking that was supposed to open at 7:00 (donors)/9:00 (public) got bumped up to 5:00 a.m. for all lots.

GameDay queueing started at 3:30 a.m., with the pit opening at 5:30.

I'd imagine a similar schedule this time around.

Would the parking times near the stadium still change if the GameDay set sets up shop on campus this time versus being at the stadium?

We pulled of Hwy 30 at Duff and barely moved for 2 hours last time with that same timeline. Heard they were late clearing out the holding lot for the grass lots the students parked in that created the delay.

In all honesty if they told us they would park the GA lots whenever you show up starting Friday night I would just sleep in my car to get parked over waiting 2 or 3 hours in the middle of the morning on game day in a traffic jam because the parking staff is not allowed to let anyone in early.

Imagine telling a Cyclone fan 20 years ago that we’ll actually have folks complaining about ESPN’s GameDay showing up to campus for a second time in 3 years.

This over and over. Even if espn is screwing us hard, be humble and incredibly greatful that we even have the CHANCE to have such complaints.

Agreed though rather it be a conference game so focus doesn't go towards state in general. Celeb pick will such as any national draws would be hawk shills like Ashton or the like.

Who ia Aquaman a fan of?

Even 5 years ago. At this point 5 years ago our new coach just lost his first game to UNI after we had just spent 3 years as one of the worst P5 teams in the sport.

5 years later we have fans complaining about our Top 10 team hosting College GameDay for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Get a grip people!

They're setting up at the stadium. Same spot.

"The set will again be located South of MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium in the grassy area between the Sukup End Zone Club and Reiman Gardens."

I would think most general sports fans would at least recognize Hali’s name.
