The big question is how does that compare to any new Pac12 deal. If it is similar, it is a P2 world, and that is actually good long term for Iowa St/Big 12.

You come on our board, suggest a division split that gives us no one within 800 miles and wonder why it's met with distain?
Committee makes sure all games in their bracket if they win are non-Sunday. They messed up one year, but BYU ended up losing before they got to the Sunday game.
Considering the ADs implied additional expansion now that the conference has stabilized, things can only look up. This means that they are looking to secretly raid the P12, B1G, or ACC for 2 or 4 more teams once TOu are out. Think about Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Nebraska, Louisville, etc. Just so long as they lie within the Mountain, Central, or Eastern time zones.
Who knows, now that Texas is again showing their weakness on the field (blowout against Arkansas), perhaps they will reconsider leaving. I have not seen the $ calculations, but they can not be making as much in the SEC as they got from the total $ of their private deal with ESPN plus B12.

We won’t get BIG or SEC inventory until the networks need to cull the sport to a super 25-30. More likely a couple Big 12 teams leave if the two media conferences go to 20.
We just need to add enough to shutdown the Pac12 and ACC ability to backfill when they lose teams. I think these 4 did that. Now wait for Arizona or Utah or CU to need a new home. If adding a G5, it’s San Diego St fits in nicely with the Pac12 leftovers and removes one of their most likely targets
I'm not particularly confident in KU quickly upgrading its football facilities, after listening to their new AD recently. But it is something they need to do and I think they will. They should know it now more than ever. And they won't necessarily be down forever. They have a fairly recent history of playing for a conference championship, and remember where Gale Sayers went to school. With that said, see below.
Fort Collins doesn't need any more people moving here but it's a special spot. CSU would be a great addition and would bloom with Big 12 $$, no different than the 4 teams we are adding.

Perhaps there could be some type of "rotating" (maybe every two years?) East - West or North - South division set-up? There is no perfect way to break it down where all might be happy.
This last scenario is "texas-heavy" and the Texas schools would incur less travel expense. Could there be some type of "travel cost sharing" in play with whatever division in chosen? Should Texas schools be broken up into 1:3 or 2:2 per division?

This is the best option. Keeps traditional rivals together and keeps travel down as much as possible.
We should wait on CSU. Other teams are still out there, above CSU, that will maximize Big 12 revenue.
