Just where Blum and CW said it would be right around.

I feel like this is a trap since we know how terrible UNLV is, but also we know how Campbell likes to play conservative, some dinged up players, and may even give some 2nd/3rd stringers time in this game if it's getting to be a bit of a blowout, then it may limit potentially hitting the over on this one.

Thoughts?

I see this as a game where they will do everything possible to get the offense in sync. Anything to get the offense some confidence. If it works, we put up 70 like the ULM game. If it doesn't work...

In Matt Campbell's tenure Iowa State is 4-4 against the spread when favored by 17.5 or more points.

That's helpful... not.
It was done to point out that while some might say Matt Campbell does not like to run up the score ... he does run up the score just fine in 50% of the games that we are expected to run up the score.

O/U was something around 52 which I thought was incredible.

The way our offense is playing I dont think I take ISU with that spread here. I have every confidence we will hold them to few if any points, but I do not have confidence in our offense to score than many. We should be able to, but not what we have seen so far, only thing that shows some life is our 2 minute offense.

I just rewatched the Iowa game. The offense is there, especially if we're going up against a d-line that isn't as talented as Iowas. Just have to execute.

The offense was playing within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage all day. Iowa d-line had a lot to do with that, but the chunk plays just aren't there for this team. So I think they'll score, but it'll be on long drawn out drives. I just don't know that a 31 point win is going to happen.

Obviously I think Manning/Campbell's approach is hindering our offense but Brock seems to be off on his throws too...also I was hoping the OL would be looking better

I’d probably not touch this one. UNLV is really bad and I believe their somewhat minimal strength is running the ball, which plays into the defenses strength. Definitely can see UNLV covering, but Iowa State surprising us wouldn’t shock me either. Also will be a home crowd away from home.

Which is interesting then that with a 30.5 pt spread, that means they expect UNLV to score around 11 points. I don't see that really either. So maybe the under is a safer play here if we don't think ISU is going to put up points.

I kind of think the over might be the play here. Weaker opponent, offense will likely play better than they have been, defense might take it easy a little bit if we’re leading comfortably…

Boys are away from home pressure and expectations. Gotta let loose. If Brock plays tense then in my opinion he's hurt and Dekkers needs more reps. Same with Hall who admitted to being dinged up. So play the backups and let them heal. Just my take.

I'm laying the points. This is a bad team we are playing. I expect the good guys to be up by at least 28 by the time I get up at halftime to buy my wife another drink. Bet the house!

I hope everyone is right about what a cakewalk this game will be - for me I'll believe it when I see it.
