so what goes Into Noom? I’ve looked into that and have been intrigued how it would work with h I got 3 kids that really only eat a diet of pizza, Mac n cheese, PB and jelly, and quesadillas so if I don’t want to make five different meals in one sitting, I’m having one of those for dinner typically.

Make what you want and if they're hungry enough, they'll eventually eat it!

Noom is a calorie counting app, they encourage you to eat foods high in water content and then tell you how great it was that you ate a freaking cucumber. You can accomplish the same thing with the fitness pal app and a little discipline. And no one is trying to council you on your cucumber diet choices.

I end up making about 4 different meals between the 6 people in the house. I'm keto, my wife has allium intolerance (no garlic, onion, and a few other common things), my 16 year old is vegan, my 14 and 13 year old are picky, and my 4 year old eats just about anything. I am the primary cook in the house so its kind of a pain but I've gotten used to it.

interesting
i have the same problem
i dont get full
i can eat and eat and eat and not get full
but ill get a stomach ache an hour or so afterward if its something like a pbj or something
but im not fat at all, obviously because of some genetic disposition
i am currently in the process of cutting out wheat; coffee and sugar
but i think it is something with the endocannabinoid production in your body
because before i was messing with my ecs system i never had the problem
but now that i have messed with it not sure how to undo without losing some of the good effects that i gained by messing with my ecs system

I spend a week in the hospital basically from complications caused by my diabetes. One thing I ordered every meal was lemon chiffon fluff, basically it's sugar fre pudding and cool whip. Does a great job settling my stomach after meals. The cherry flavored Italian ice worked well too but not sure where find them. They were each about a quarter of my 60 carb limit per meal.

I am down about 9 pounds from the 1st of September, although I might have put on a pound or two after tailgating with friends on Saturday and getting together with family on separate occasions. Also, my fridge started acting up and I had to defrost it. It makes it more difficult to eat healthy when you can't have fresh fruit and vegetables. I'm trying not to let the past few days lead to more weight gain so I'm trying to re-focus.

Didn't go to the game but was in town and had 3 Iowa Stater meals.

Been fastinh a bit the last couple of days. Usually helps.

Congrats on the weight trim though.

Down about 15 since the start of the school year. Combine stress/anxiety with the stomach bug the last few weeks and I'm dropping pounds like crazy. Not exactly how I'd like to lose weight, but I'll take it where I can get it. Colonoscopy scheduled for the end of the month ought to get me cleaned out real good too.

I am not very familiar with intermittent fasting. Is this something you do every day? 3 days a week?

There's several different ways people do it or try.

Personally I just try to be done eating by about 6 PM every day and don't eat until the next day, and having the meals generally healthy. That's usually a 12 hour window.

My 'fasting' after binging for a weekend or whatever is basically acknowledging that I'm full and really not even hungry, it's time for the body to use what's there until I really feel hungry again.

I would imagine its easiest to do every day, because then your body gets used to that.

When i'm most successful losing weight, I generally do a 'one meal a day' version of IF. Once I get on that schedule, i eventually stop being hungry until i'm close to my meal of the day, and then i can really enjoy that meal as I've got a large calorie budget to use there.

I was down about 60 between april and august, though i've regained about 5 the last month as weight loss kind of went on the back burner (my younger brother passed a few weeks ago). I've been getting back on the horse this week though, as my body has started to feel like crap from treating it that way the last few weeks.

I was gettin a lil portly. Added up what I ate thru lunch everyday. Thought I was eating kinda healthy. I was eating 2000 calories w/ a lil Debbie double stack oatmeal pie for b’fast and a bologna sammich, chips, couple baby candy bars for lunch. 100g fat, 248g carbs, 38g protein. I just started doing my own “diet” to see if I could burn the fat. Didn’t really workout other than moderate/slightly heavy activity at work. Weighed everything I ate. Was kind of a kick tracking what I ate. Ate low carb, low fat, high protein. Ate 3 times/day. Approx 1100 calories, 25g fat, 25g carbs, 150g+ protein. Burned 47 lbs o’ fat in 4 months. Was easier to do cuz I didn’t have to worry bout kids etc. good luck to y’all. Feels good to lose it.

Not exactly sure.
Had to climb some tall bins. Last year it tired me out. This year I zipped up them without much effort. Finding myself doing little things to do that creates movement that I wouldn’t last year. Want to drop one one pants size and I will be happy. Will walk 2-3 miles between fields to move equipment instead of using the gator.

I'll add kids to that, as well. We try to eat fairly healthy even with little ones, but there's always a bite here and a bite there left over after the meal. If I'm trying to lose, it's so hard to not just take that extra 2-3 forkfuls off their plate when they finish. Seems like nothing, but it can easily push me over the limit for a given day.

Or, if I'm trying to watch my sweets but don't want to force the rest of the family to follow that plan, it gets real tough. Hard to take the kids out for ice cream and A) not order anything for myself or B) end up taking half a dozen bites of their ice cream. Takes real discipline and I struggle with that.
On the flipside I have an 8th grade son, so the rest of us are lucky to get any food, especially during football. The combination of football and lifting and he has been a remorseless eating machine. He is very lean - 5'7 and 120, and he just ate 6 eggs for breakfast this morning. When I ask him if he's full, he says, "I never get full. I just get tired of eating eventually."

Getting rid of excess carbs has worked for me. I eat a lot of sandwiches with high fiber/low net carb tortillas as I'm not a huge fan of vegetables. Fried chicken limiting carb intake to the breading as well. Biggest difference is that I can go longer without eating and don't get nearly as hungry. I can now easily do 1500 calories a day and leave room for the cocktails. But it does take discipline. I'm fearful of exercise because it's always increased my appetite.

Down 20 to 250 since June with a cheat day or week thrown in between. No big hurry for me, just slow and steady.

I'm down almost 20 pounds since September 1st. I've been doing a combination of intermittent fasting and low carbs. I tested positive for Covid yesterday (vaccinated, but still feel like i've been hit by a truck) so I've cheated the past few meals. Hopefully I can get back on track once I'm feeling better.

Husband of a friend of mine is 6’10”. He has three brothers and he’s the small one. He said in HS they would each eat a dozen eggs for breakfast. That’s $150/month just in eggs.

Ok boys and girls, time for an accountability post. I've gained 10lbs since August. May not sound like a big deal, but after dropping about 130lbs over the prior two years (365 to 235, now at 245) I'm frankly scared to death of regaining all the weight. I've seen two people have similar weight loss, only to be back to their "before" weight a couple years later.

The holidays is a terrible time to do it - temptations and social events make it hard to decline - but I need to really buckle down and take control again. I'm not looking for advice, but making a public post to motivate and hold myself accountable. I know I can do it, but I have to make it happen.
