I was in Arrowhead and saw Sproles roll OU in the CCG. I'd have to see Silas between the tackles before anointing him to that level but yes he just might be.
I honestly see a lot of Troy Davis in his game. Don’t know if he has that lateral motion, but it’s the “little guy/violent runner” thing.
I could see a Sproles/Montgomery hybrid comp.
I’m going to need to see him in some huge ******* shoulder pads first.
IMO the physical skills of many of the young guys is superior to many of the long standing starters on the roster.
Coach Campbell has this program in a great position to be a top 15 program each year. Just a matter if they put in the work and have same attitude as guys who have grown this program.
Listening to post game interviews with the players- they are Campbell Clones!! Listening to Enyi and Eisworth, impressive kids. They can talk the football talk, but they have great personalities as well. I can see Eisworth being a FB coach some day.
He's an ankle breaker. Not because of lateral moves, but because he hits players at ankle height.
ISU is 7-10 in September during CMC's tenure. Until he can figure that out, what you just said will be more difficult than it should be.
Think of what Silas' body will look like next fall after an off-season with Andrews.
I really like our backs.
- Brock is solid in all aspects. He's a one cut slasher type runner.
- Silas brings attitude and elusiveness.
- Sanders is speedy and silky smooth.
I see David Montgomery in Silas and Breece Hall in Sanders. I think it is going to be important that Manning figures a way to get 2 backs on field together next season. Heck, why not this season. Run some RPO triple option.

I love what I've seen from Silas so far... who hasn't.... but I have to admit that I think Sanders is even better IMO.
I think Sanders brings the whole package. When he first came here I thought he was just going to be a speed guy with some elusiveness... and maybe mostly a 3rd down back.... and he is that, but he also runs with a lot of power too... in fact he looks like he almost prefers to run people over a lot of times. If he builds up his body just a bit, which he will, he definitely can be an every down back for us.
Sanders has impressed me with his physicality as much as anything. I knew he was fast but I've been surprised to see him put his head down and hit some dudes. I think it really helps to have someone like Kene to point to for how success looks different for everyone. If you're good enough, you play. Excited for all of the young backs, Xavier Townsend included.
Enjoy listening to all the comparisons. I haven't been able to see much of him yet myself, but am anxious to see the replay! Still haven't been able to find a UNLV replay, ghr.
Sproles would be just fine with me. And he had a nice NFL career iirc.
As far as Emmitt, yeah he's pretty good too! LOL. Just a little. I didn't realize Emmitt was/is only 5'9!
I figure there's a reason all those young guys were still breaking off chunks of yards late.
