So someone speeding and killing someone or damaging public property from hitting something as a result...who's the victim?

Presumably, there are other laws regarding killing someone or damaging their property.

At any rate, I'm not necessarily arguing against penalties for speeding. Just against the ridiculous notion that every transgression has to be punished to create an orderly society.

You can read all about how Illinois mishandled their pensions here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/chicag...adigan-pension-debt-illinois-policy-institute
Great read- thank you. However, I still don’t get the connection between public debts and fleecing honest taxpayers for a victimless traffic violation. Why not put out cameras for failing to signal lane changes and turns? Seatbelt cameras? The over-reach is endless and all are morally wrong.

Edit: The Illinois pension clearly promised more than government could deliver. It seems like amending their Constitution might be their best and most honest play.

Wait- you lectured Pride about personal responsibility and then in this post you lament another poster for being caught. Which is it? Personal responsibility or just upset you were caught…where’s the personal responsibility? You really have no standards do you? You pick on Pride because he doesn’t fit your narrative. Pathetic.
Sorry you didn’t understand I wasn’t being sincere.

Where did I say that there should be a penalty for every transgression?

Mustang Cy, I was sorry to hear about your wife's condition when my wife mentioned it last month. News in a small town travels fast, and I hope that she has a speedy recovery.

My advise would be that both of your are under enough stress the way it is, pay the tickets and either slow down or find another route to take your wife up for treatment.
It may not hurt to reach out the town and explain why were your speeding, they might cut you a break and forgive at least one of the tickets.

Take care and God Bless
