Smacking a Pac 12 opponent in San Antonio would be fun![]()

God not OuT again!!!Unfortunately without Texas and OU, the next round of bowl negotiations seem likely to have a downgrade in bowls.
Not sure you can downgrade much as it is. Sugar remains the anchor bowl, followed by the Alamo and Cheez-it/Camper. Even more of a Texas/Florida tie-in with Houston and Central Florida added to the mix. Also, given the crap turn out of the Pac 12 (and ACC), why would any of the bowls want to push to move over to them?Afraid so

First Insight and Alamo stand out for us.....Too bad Covid shut us out last year.obviously right now, we're still shooting for the Sugar Bowl but if like you said, if OU runs the table and gets the playoff, we'd get the Alamo...not ideal given the hype our season had, BUT San Antonio is the most fun I've had at a bowl site yet...such a fun city

My daughter just committed to ASU. While disappointing based on expectations for this year, it would be a blast for our family.
I agree. High expectations increases ticket sales. So, I can see the money behind marketing the hype. The downside of that, however, is greater disappointment. We're of course sitting right in the middle. The remainder of the season will be really interesting. And that is basically an afterthought! How crazy is it for this program that reaching 6 wins isn't being treated as a huge cause for calibration. Thinking back to anytime in the pre-Campbell era, bowl eligibility was the goal. Making it to 6 wins was considered a successful season under Rhoads and McCarney, but now the expectations have been raised so much that 6 wins wasn't even the floor for this team.
This makes 5 straight years under Campbell that the Cyclones will be going bowling, extending the longest streak in program history. Campbell also ties McCarney for bowl appearances (2000, '01, '02, '04, '05). Campbell is tied with McCarney for bowl wins as a HC with two.

Guess it all depends on the location and opponent's tied in with those games. All bowls outside the CFP are glorified exhibitions. Even the NY6 games are just that. More prestige? Sure. But in the end, bowls are about where you are playing and who you are playing. There are so many bowl games the Big 12 has literally never been tied to that would be nice to have. And it would be great to get a more even spread of ACC, PAC and SEC tie-ins with those because seeing new teams is a big part of it. Wazzu in the Alamo Bowl was sweet as hell because we likely never see them again.Unfortunately without Texas and OU, the next round of bowl negotiations seem likely to have a downgrade in bowls.
I’ll never forget what it was like before CMC..And that is basically an afterthought! How crazy is it for this program that reaching 6 wins isn't being treated as a huge cause for calibration. Wondering how many years in a row cyclone fans will take over a bowl destination. Assume we go a dozen seasons in a row, does fatigue set in and we don't turnout in a big way to support an 8-4 team?
Kind of like the Atlanta braves winning the division 14 years in a row. Home playoff tickets were marked below face value on the resell market. Fans starting holding back funds waiting for them to make it to the world series.
We could do worse. Shreveport, Nashville, Mobile, Ft. Worth would all suck.Honestly as long as we get different locations I’m in

It would be awesome to go to Nashville for a bowl. Not sure you can downgrade much as it is. Sugar remains the anchor bowl, followed by the Alamo and Cheez-it/Camper. Bonus points on the bowl projections...Iowa to the Music City in Nashville...again.
