Why doesn't anybody make a complete impact bit set that can be used with a quick change driver? I don't want the short stubby **** where you have to use an adapter. I very rarely use my drill for driving anything and I'm sick of bits falling out of the magnetic adapters. Anyone found anything like this?

Also, ya'll should post good black friday deals you run across. My neighbor has one of these and it's pretty friggin sturdy. Will probably pick one up for half off.

If you want impact bits here you go. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but it’s a pretty good deal.

Do any of you burn a brand on your projects?
My brother does a little woodworking. Just hobby projects, but he’s pretty good.
For Christmas this year, I thought about getting him a branding iron.

If others use them, any recommendations? I’ve found a few options online.
I’m planning to just get a torch heated one, not electric.

Thanks!

I do. I got it as a gift from a family member off of Etsy. For twenty bucks, I can’t really ask for more. I heat it up over the gas stove. I thought it was a pretty ******* cool gift and personalized to boot.

I have thought about branding my projects, but haven't pulled the trigger on a branding iron. I currently use a laser to engrave on the backs, but a branding iron looks more professional in my opinion.

Go for it. I was crazy impressed with the one I linked for the price. A ton of designs to choose from too.

Haven't thought about it, But now it sounds great!

Checked for it, even it's not costly to use!

Thinking about getting a biscuit joiner. Any thoughts? Currently use a cheap dowel jig to make joints but it is slow and clunky. Looked into nicer dowel jigs but for the price could just get a nice biscuit joiner. The biscuit joiner seems faster to me but I have never used one.

Just remember biscuits aren't structural and are more so linear alignment.
If the Festool domino wasn't a grand I'd buy one.

Agreed it depends on what you want it for. The biscuits aren’t structural where the domino definitely is. That being said, I don’t use biscuits and never really have seen a huge need.

Pretty much exactly what I was looking for and it’s half off right now. Supposed to be here tomorrow. Thanks!

They must own some patent or it must cost a fortune to manufacture. Surprised Makita doesn't have one.
It must be a patent thing? You think it wouldn't be hard for Makita or DeWalt to come up with a version for half the cost and sell the **** out of them.

I agree with everyone, biscuits not used for structure strength. I got into cabinet making and needed help keeping face frames square during glue up, so I bought the Porter Cable 557 biscuit jointer. Works great for that, and now use in all face frames, picture frames, and building raised door panels. Porter Cable is pricey, but he'll, it is a tool I can use for many years.

Just wanted to toss this out there in case anyone was interested. I found this guy on FB who mills his own lumber near Klemme, IA. Just a young guy that's a full-time woodworker. His price was so good I made a 2 hr pilgrimage to stock up. I got almost 60 BF of rough-sawn walnut for around $5/BF. He has a ton of stock and it's all kiln dried. He also had oak, hard maple, and spalted maple.

Super nice young man who let me pick through his stock for an hour and get what I wanted. I'll definitely go back.

Anybody know of any good Black Friday deals for woodworking tools or shop equipment??
I am in the market for a good air purifier for my shop. Should have pulled the trigger in a Jet 1000 in the spring, but thought I would wait until fall when I had to keep the doors shut. Now the same air purifier is about $200 more.
What are people looking for this year??

I have absolutely zero complaints about the Wen air purifier after about a year now.
