Seems like Napier or Aranda. Campbell seems like a longshot and not sure why he’s mentioned.

WRT to CMC, I was kind of surprised CMC was a candidate, I think his stock is low right now due to the "championship" comments and ISU's season (unfair, but perception is reality). Almost feels more like he is a stalking horse, where the admin wants Aranda, and listed CMC to make the fanbase gravitate towards Aranda all the more more.

I could see a sticking point with Campbell and a job like USC or LSU or even Penn State being him being able to take his assistants with me

I'm surprised Joe Brady isn't being mentioned more. He was their architect for the 2019 offense.

Early on I thought that. But he’s established enough and sought after enough, I bet he could take whoever he wanted to a college job.

Now the NFL? That would be less likely.

I could see Campbell going to Florida over LSU. LSU is a culture shock type place. People down there are totally different than the rest of the United States. No bad people. Just totally different. Florida is a little different but a lot of Midwest folks.

Seriously tho how good has Baylor been at picking winning head coaches.

I don't want to get into their character stuff, but just when we think Baylor will move back to the cellar, they pick another good one.

Yeah and everytime they hire one it's a "Not a flashy hire" type guy and everyone laughs. Then they kick everyones butts for a while until either the coach allows rape or they go to the NFL.

I always thought Heacock was a guy who is not going to want to move again.
If I remember Campbell had to do a lot of convincing to just get him to come to Ames.

Observing from afar, that relationship kind of strikes me like a father son thing and would be difficult for Campbell to move on should Heacock not want to go to LA or Seattle.

I've thought Aranda to LSU has made the most sense all along. I'd like to think it would knock a leg out from underneath Baylor but as someone else just mentioned, their ability to find under the radar talent is impressive.

I think Aranda goes to LSU, and Napier goes to Florida, although that has be be a hornets nest right now.

Florida boards last night said Napier was pretty much a done deal, but have not checked today to see if things have changed.

I haven’t seen Jamey Chadwell’s name much this year. He took Coastal to pretty high heights last year. Could be a name for Virginia Tech.

I'm not being doom and gloom at all, but I've been hearing a lot of things from people that they will be surprised if Matt is still in Ames next year.

Napier to Florida makes a ton of sense. Aranda is from Southern California. I think if he’s leaving Baylor this year it’s for USC.

Or you could actually win a National Championship at LSU too. If it doesn't work out, then you still get a massive buyout and still young enough to rebuild your career some place else. I could see the allure.

Yeah... that just screams Matt Campbell...

Virginia Tech needs to make that hire.

I think if Campbell leaves this season it’s for an NFL job. These college openings just don’t make a lot of sense to me for him.

Shhhhh... Don't tell Texas that a good coach can actually be hired. It's fun watching the Texas alumni money going in the pockets of former coaches!
