Should Breece get at least some consideration for the Heisman?
they are talking up that MSU RB for Heisman and Breece is head & shoulders above him
I know its in his best interest to go pro after this season and I know he will but at the same time and he totally should -
but man it'd be nice to have him back. but i know that's fools gold to even harbor that hope. just really looking forward to watching him at least 4 more times, hopefully 5.

Heisman no longer goes (and maybe it never did) to the "best player in college football." It seems to be an award that fits a national media narrative more than anything else.
This is the correct answer. I haven't cared about the Heisman fluff-fest for years. It is the position specific awards that matter.
I respectfully disagree. One of the things I love about college sports is the year-over-year turnover. I enjoy watching each year's team make adjustments and grow to fill in the holes left by the previous year's graduates. I think it's awesome and is a quality the pros will never really have.
Breece needs to go out and challenge himself at the next level because that's how "he's going to be the best version of himself he can be." (to coin a phrase
) And he's certainly ready for that challenge IMO. ISUFB will obviously be weaker at RB as a result but that just gives everybody else on the team a new opportunity to succeed.I love all the guys on this year's team but I also think so many of them coming back as super-seniors is, in a certain sense, boring for both us the fans and them -- I can't help but think that some of the team's losses this year are a consequence of that collective boredom, a "been there, done that" atmosphere.
I kinda agree about the super senior thing but at the same time - we didn't actually win the Big 12 title game. So I think there's some of that but they'd also never beaten Iowa so there were still goals to check off... had it been a 10-2 team that beat Oklahoma in the title game and won the bowl then yeah, I think for sure. But since there were still some tangible goals - and still are - I don't know if 100% I can agree with that.I respectfully disagree. And I love the turn over generally too - I was just thinking in terms of having a new quarterback it'd be awesome to have a guy to hand the ball off to 25-30 times and know that you could kinda ease into it. I like Brock a lot, part of me wished he'd get a few more carries and I love what we've seen in small samples from Sanders and Silas. And I am very excited to see Dekkers and what he does - presuming he wins the job .
I do look forward to seeing the new crew get their opportunity was just thinking that with a young quarterback, a young defense it'd be nice to have an old work horse stud running back with hopefully a veteran and improved offensive line take the pressure off some of the youth.
Overall though I do agree that Breece needs to move on, its what best for him, he's been a great player / ambassador for the program and needs to maximize his ability and value while he can. Just wishful thinking.
Iowa State is developing a strong culture of RB's, especially lately with Montgomery and B. Hall. I am excited to see what comes next!
As good as Both the Davis brothers were at ISU (Troy and Darren), their pro careers showed how difficult it is/was to have a long career in the NFL. Both of them faired well in the Canadian League. Their smaller size played a role in that undoubtedly.
Montgomery is doing well for the Bears. He has a great work ethic and hopefully will come back strong from the knee injury. I think Breece will have a long (fingers crossed) NFL career. He has the size and all the tools. I hope he goes to the right team/fit.
We are just so lucky to have these two back to back!
Edit: And I have to cringe a little when I said 'long' NFL career. That is reserved for a select few I think, in terms of RB's. They deserve all the money they can make, as long as they are able.

Landing in the right place is important in the NFL. I don't know that Troy Davis was destined for superstardom, but I completely believe that "Coach" Ditka destroyed any chance he had.
I just hope Breece gets drafted by a team that has a decent offensive line. It will be fun to watch him on Sunday.
He needs about 300 yards on Friday to seal the deal. And maybe four touchdowns. How does that sound?
