I used to want Amazing Grace on the bagpipes played at my funeral, but don't think my family needs to go through the expense or hassle to hire someone to come and play it. I'll be dead anyway so it's not like I'll be able to enjoy it.

I'm a bit of a traditionalist about these things. "How Great Thou Art" is a gorgeous and emotional song so probably that one.

"Turn, Turn, Turn" is another favorite that would seem appropriate.

"Party in the USA" is a guilty pleasure so I'd like that just to embarrass my wife and kids when they picture me dancing to it.

Also, definitely "Juicy Wiggle".

My dad was a HUGE baseball fan. Loved everything about it (except the designated hitter). He was a major St Louis Cardinal fan. Anyway, when he passed away we ended his funeral by singing "Take me out to the ball game...." There not a dry eye in the house.

There were a number of the Catholic usuals that my wife wanted in her funeral. The visitation background music was more relaxed. A mixture of country and pop songs that had special meaning to her.

My favorite was "Old and Wise" by Alan Parsons Project.

Bye Bye Baby. They play it at the end of every inning in which the San Francisco Giants hit a home run during the tv broadcasts. Title seems appropriate enough. I'll probably be cremated in a Buster Posey jersey. If the visitation is open casket, it will all make sense. Maybe...

I probably won't haunt my family if they play either of these.
