Yeah, ADJP kind of stated the other night that he and CMC both kind of like the idea of Houston because it's a January bowl and the kids could go home for Xmas, which is a first in the past few years.

But the Tuesday after the New Year holiday is such a terrible date for nearly everyone else. If it has to be after NY then do it on Monday. Or push to Friday, Jan 7.

I'm not sure I understand what Jamie said about bumping 2 teams "up". If Baylor wins or loses, they are most likely in the Sugar Bowl and OK State is still in either a NY6 or the CFP right?

Think he just meant instead of getting 1 in the CFP or NY6 the Big 12 would get two. That's not always a lock to do so.

Would have felt better about that until they dropped OU way down to 14th.

But Sugar is considered part of the NY6(with the autobid for Big 12) so while it's not a complete lock, OK State and Baylor being ranked where they are is about as close to a lock as you can get. Baylor losing by a large margin solidifies OK State's resume for the CFP and Baylor still goes to the Sugar. I don't think it has anything to with the outcome of the Big 12 Championship Game, I think the only way that either OK State or Baylor slide down(causing all other teams to slide down a spot) and be considered for Alamo is if Alabama wins and stays in the Top 4.

Right,
1. If Baylor wins, both OsU and BU could get NY6 games outside of the CFP.
2. If OsU wins, OsU should get into the CFP and another team, BU or OU would be in the Sugar.

Neither is foolproof but strong percentages.

#2 is foolproof. We are guaranteed a team in the Sugar. Even if OSU makes the CFP.

I posted this in another thread, but I expect Armageddon this weekend. Georgia, Cincy, Michigan, Oklahoma State all lose:

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Notre Dame
4. Ohio State

Tell me that's not what the committee wants...

I think Michigan is ahead of OSU in that scenario. They’re as close to a lock as Georgia

OU is irrelevant. No matter the outcome of the Big 12 Championship game, the Big 12 is getting 2 teams in the NY6

I agree which means the Cheez-It will choose between us and K-State, and if we don’t get picked, Texas will choose between us and Tech. And if we aren’t picked yet again, Liberty will likely take us although WVU could theoretically be an option.

I would say you're right, except if Michigan beats Iowa I think it would go:

1. Alabama
2. Georgia,
3. Michigan
4. Ohio St

even with wins this weekend, I think Cincinnati and Oklahoma St are left out. Notre Dame I don't think has anywhere close to the resume to get in, so it would be entertaining to hear the committee justify putting them in.

OsU could win and still not make the CFP, that's the part that's not foolproof. Bama could win, ba-ta-boom 2 SEC teams in the playoff again.

Oklahoma State jumps to #4 over Cincy in that scenario. There is zero chance that a 12-1 Big 12 champ isn’t making the playoff
