Not exactly sure.
Continuous corn works for a few years without deep ripping, but long term continuous corn needs to be ripped IMO.
I try to rip twice and then moldboard. Many times it ends up being ripped 5 and then plowed. I have fields that are pushing 20 years.

Not a pig that ain’t finished yet. Needs another 50-70#s.

When I was in school 250 or a little more was about all they accepted before docking you. I don't ever remember feeding them out to 300lbs +. Of course that's been a few decades ago so I'm sure things have changed.

I had a semi load go to a tail ender site that averaged 238.

Omaha, NE
A tornado supposedly crossed I-80 near Aurora NE and this is the camera at Aurora looking back east.

Ripped 5 times then plowed? Wow.

If I had to rip twice then moldboard, I frankly wouldn’t do continuous corn. Too much time, fuel, and wear on stuff.

After sitting through the derecho this stuff gives me so much anxiety. That was like a freight train and made my ears pop. It caused $20K of damage to our house, thankful everyone was safe.
I feel the same way.
The derecho reminded me of when I was in Texas for Hurricane Harvey. I had some anxiety when Harvey hit because it was my first hurricane.
Tornados, don’t get much warning for tornados. Give me the hurricane, if I have a choice.

Just heard from a local station in NE that a portion of the line was moving at 95 MPH. Insane.
I hope people are being proactive. This is moving crazy fast and the typical amount of warning is not going to happen with this storm.
