So with some of the current tornadoes developing a little north/west of the predicted moderate area, do you think the majority will be in that area or have we just not seen anything yet and the predicted area could be worse?

Cleaned up a little dead plant matter in the yard and noticed a few of the day lilies have sprouts. I'm not a horticulturist, nor have I paid enough attention in past years, to know if this is the last bit of life in the plant before it goes dormant to winter or if this is a new result of warm weather.

There is plenty of instability to go around. The line stretches down to the KS/OK border. That’s going to start sweeping up in to the unstable areas that nothing has touched yet. The amount of kinks in this line with little Inflow notches is crazy.

Yeah we had pop up rain showers here in the omaha area when the winds increased about 2 hours ago so lots of energy just waiting to be tapped.

For some reason, I have a bad feeling about this one. I usually don’t buy into the freak out, but up HyVee hype with any storms but this one is just too weird. I thought the tornado game against Colorado was an all-timer but this is very strange

Can't wait for the neighbors to the south Trampoline to hit my house today. Going to be a fun conversation.

Not liking you guys telling me there have been reports of 80-95mph wind. thats not good.

My wife just asked me to put our grill in the garage in case a tornado hits.

I told her if a tornado hits being in the garage isn't going to protect the grill and if a tornado hits the grill is probably not the most important thing we need to protect.

LOL
When you’re down to eating squirrels you’ll be happy you saved that grill.

Rough 4:30 ETA for the line of storms to plow through the Omaha area. Many areas of 80-95 mph winds showing up on the doppler radar velocity product, just waiting for the storms to tap into it and focus it at the surface. Forecast models also showing a brief lull in the winds after the storms pass, but then ramp the winds up to 50-70 mph as the colder air pushes in.

I feel the same way.
The derecho reminded me of when I was in Texas for Hurricane Harvey. I had some anxiety when Harvey hit because it was my first hurricane.
Tornados, don’t get much warning for tornados. Give me the hurricane, if I have a choice.
That's why this storm is so weird. We've had 2-3 days warning. Usually you have a couple hours at most for a sever storm and a Tornado can be a matter of minutes. This feels so much more ominous just sitting here waiting for it, knowing what's coming. The derecho also came out of nowhere.
