Did they just say there was mud in the rain falling on the back side of this from dirt kicked up into the atmosphere from CO and KS? Raining mud?

Many many years ago, living in Omaha, there was a pretty decent system that started up in Oklahoma and came up through eastern Nebraska at night. The next morning, I woke up to reddish colored speckled mud on my car...picked up from Oklahoma.

Sirens in Ankeny again for the 83rd time.

North Ankeny for me, still have power at the moment.

A couple of quick power dips, also in north Ankeny, but still have power.

Wind is impressive, but just feels like a bad thunderstorm right now.

Near Adel. The worst of it went North of us. Nothing too exciting here except some wind. Went for a walk while it was approaching to watch the lightning show from the serious cell that was West of us. Felt more like mid June than mid December.

The lightning made the Christmas lights look especially festive.

That's basically what it's been in Beaverdale. The Derecho was 10x scarier than this so far. I think the trees being leafless helps.

That happened a couple of years ago here in central Iowa when we went outside and saw that reddish looking spots where the rain had dried on the cars and sidewalks.
