Is there any chance this game gets bumped to ESPN or ABC? Top 10 matchup on ESPNU between 2 undefeated teams is lame af.
No
Taking this thread a different direction- I think this will be a heck of a game. Hilton will be rockin. I know this- we will play our a** off and I will be a proud cyclone win or lose. My biggest concern - we are not great on offense and they are very good on defense. We may struggle scoring. But, we play great defense - which will always keep us in games. Fouls could be big too. I am guessing we will be 5-6 points dogs in this one at home, but do not bet against us. I would not be surprised if 55 points wins the game. Go Clones!

The game will stay on ESPNU because we're up against bowls that are happening at the same time. That said, athletics needs to find a way to allow students back. I get we played Chicago State, but Hilton was dead last night. We need some energy in there come conference play....and yes before you reply to my comment, I am aware that conference games have always started during the holiday break, but that doesn't excuse for not letting students in, especially given how our season is going

I am fully expecting that Baylor will get the calls to pull this one out. I'm not complaining; I know ISU got the calls in the 2000 season when Fizer was dominating.

I reserve the right to complain after the game though. I know ISU has benefited from star treatment before but I wish it wasn't a thing.

Anybody know what happened to Jaden Walker last night? I noticed he wasn't on the bench, figured he probably transfered or something.

I think Randy P tweeted before the game that he had a non-covid illness. Seemed a bit suspicious though.

It was posted in another thread that student season ticket holders had the option to add any or all break games for $5 a game.

I was at the game last night. I don't think it's fair to compare the crowd last night with Baylor. Sorry if it's hard to get rowdy against one of the worst Division 1 teams I've ever seen play in person.

I swear half their shots they didn't even have thr intention of going in, the onky objective was to get any shot off before the shot clock regardless of quality. They also have dudes running a 3 on 2 fast break and then jsut stopping in the middle of it.

Baylor might be a little different atmosphere even without students.

And shuffling their feet about 4 times without a call.

Really. I think illness is pretty common in the late fall/early winter period.

He is the last player on the bench and a previous coach's recruit missing a game between semesters. I'm definitely suspicious that illness is the reason he didn't suit up.

*not losing sleep over it though and hope he is back.

"not letting students in" .... what? that's... not how that works. they are, for the most part, literally / physically not in Ames.

we had a game against Kansas I believe for the 2018-19 season, in the middle of winter break and we had practically a full student section. I imagine there's enough local students in the Ames/DSM area that would go to this game even though they're on break

are students "not allowed" in, or is it that there's just not many on campus because classes are out?

What cable/streaming package doesn't have ESPNU?
Our condo's included basic cable package from Xfinity/Comcast. Xfinity/Comcast makes Mediacom look like a Bentley/Rolls level product and service. We get ESPN, ESPN2 and FS1 - but no on the U. But this is not Iowa where everyone is into college sports. Pro sports pretty much rule the convos here.
