I’ll post this question here

so what’s the advantage of entering the portal before the bowl game as opposed until after? And also even if one enters the portal, what’s the harm for playing it out at the bowl game? Asking for a friend

True. But we also have more NFL players than wins this time.

Wait you don’t mean draftable players right? There is no way there are 8 players on this team that are going to be drafted. Maybe 8 will make the league eventually but if the whole team was eligible to be drafted, we still wouldn’t have 8 right now.

Probably get the process of transferring started along with allowing the team to move on.

the talent level, coaching, and facilities at ISU back then were light years behind where they are now.

Seneca had NFL level talent. Would have succeeded more as a receiver IMO, though. Still hard to fault several years as a very well paid clipboard holder. I know I’d take that gig.

I don’t think Brock Purdy will play a down in the NFL or even get elevated out of a practice squad. That doesn’t mean he is or was a bad college QB—his ceiling just is (was) lower than Senecas.

Seneca actually had a lot of fun starts and backup stints in the NFL. He was definitely a pretty frequently used clipboard holder in terms of clipboard holders over his career.

I’m not saying Brock is NFL material. Seneca was an elite athlete. But Senecas team didn’t throw 18 ints he did. Seneca might have had a higher potential ceiling, but he never came close to reaching that potential.
Potential is only good if you live up to it.

signing day. Getting hurt for a team you’re leaving.

It’s fitting the final play of Brock Purdy’s ISU career was a scramble that he made a great play and had the first down in his pocket….BUT tried to do too much for the situation and got the ball poked out and ended the game.
Pretty much sums it up.
Never in these heights without him.

Do you not think Campbell would have played him if he were better than Purdy? Could it be he wasn't the best option?

I’m talking about being excited for next year. This year was a lost cause after game 2. It would have been nice to get him some play in this game, but whatever, it’s a new era next year with better recruits than we had in this era and that is exciting.

When did this play happen? Was it talked about during the broadcast? I was away from the TV and had to settle for radio during a portion of the game.

Honestly though, I'm bummed but not upset, especially with studs like Breece and Mike out, along with X not being able to go 100%, it's whatever. We didn't get blown out like we did last time we played in this bowl which was nice, and our 2s showed they belong on the field. I'm mostly worried about our O-line and corners for next year, (and playcalling) but should be back bowling again next year at the minimum. Now for the long dreaded offseason. WE HAVE BASKETBALL AT LEAST THIS YEAR!!!! :D

The defender kind of lost it for a second but more than likely because he got owned. They glanced over it on the broadcast for 5 seconds and decided it was nothing.

We gain 6 inches on our QB and lose an NFL running back. Really worried about running back, TE and receivers will be decent, need stellar OL play to go to a bowl next year.

He got tangled up at one point but it's very clear in that view that his right hand gets to the ground, not the player's head.

I thought Noel was overly physical on the play and looked like a hold or something.

The responses on that tweet would make you think Noel killed the guy. What a bunch of morons

Noel’s hand does go to the ground it looks like….. good. I thought he did punch him….. good job Jaylin!!

I loved the rest of the play…. Jaylin owned him on that play and took his manhood away from him.
