Have you ever been embarrassed to wear Cyclone Gear?

yeah, everyone needs to take a step back, go watch it…maybe could have been said better but it wasn’t bad what they said

CMC is now in year seven. Should matter close to zero what previous staff's players felt about the logo. They're long gone.
The facilities and support are there. "Laughing stock" and "embarrassed" are terms favored by tavernhoks. Put that crap in the rear view mirror.
Emphasize what is now. Like "We're not going away."

Swirl on.

Cyclone Fanatic is yellow journalism? Pull yourself together.
I would have thought them to be a bit more circumspect but did not read what they said. As I wrote, this is annoying as hell brandishing ISU's coach and players over such nonsense. Good lord.

Attended elementary in the 80's as the only Cyclone fan in a school full of hawks.

Never embarrassed, not even then.

This thread is terrible. What would be embarrassing is if Eisworth read this thread. Clearly was an emotional situation they were in and it wasn’t scripted. Give them a break. Eisworth said it, Campbell repeated it. There wasn’t anything meant by it. I really dislike how we are throwing guys under the bus like this, Eisworth is a great Cyclone and he was pretty clearly emotional and reacting to a long career and what they accomplished. Stop being offended by everything, it wasn’t a big deal. Honestly I can’t believe this is even a subject. This thread should be closed.

Duh!
I think people are getting hung up on the terminology. I think what they are trying to say is solid. The program was the laughingstock of the Big 12 more years than not. That isn't the case anymore. Whether anyone was really embarrassed or not is just details.
Good take. They may have been better served by saying the some didn’t proudly wear ISU gear. I see sooooo much more of it on game day, in Iowa and around the country than I did 10 years ago.

I’m sure players were embarrassed to walk around campus wearing team gear after losing to UNI or coming back to Ames after losing by 68 to Baylor. The offense sometimes got booed off the field in the Messingham days.

What are you talking about?

The only booos I remember ever hearing in The Jack was directed at the Big XII refs.

I mean, ISU would have to pull several Baylors (rapes and murders - and covering them up to protect the programs) before I was embarrassed to wear my gear.

NEVER have I worn Hawkeye gear, and two of my children have gone to U of I.

NEVER have I been embarrassed to wear Cyclone gear and I have been a fan since the early 1970s and a 1988 graduate.

Welcome to what the world has become, this is about every other thread now. Take something small and out of context, be pessimistic, and blow it out of proportion. The Cave has leaked into every other forum. Look at all the Purdy hate threads, or the threads about every little thing that someone thinks is wrong with the program. Or who's not getting playing time in basketball after every game.

Yes I have certain feelings about all those things, but I don't need to make click baity threads for attention as if I discovered the silver bullet of what's wrong with the program.

This program was the Laughing Stock in this STATE for 15 years ... Until Dan McCarney and the team ... WENT OVER TO IOWA CITY AND WON...Then the Univ of Iowa ...FIRED Hayden Fry after that season....

The Iowa State Game is the SUPER BOWL FOR THE HOKS AND HOK FANS EVERY YEAR!!
