So my rooting options are a sec rematch or sanctimonious Michigan fans. I'll root for Michigan because I hate the sec, but I don't know if I can stomach Steve deace after his team wins a title. So Georgia either needs to lose or win by 50.

A better game, i agree. Win? No. I think there would have been some notion for awhile that an upset could happen, particularly with Ohio St.

This isn't the regular season. Opponents will get Bama's best. I think Ohio St wasn't deserving, but imo would have the best chance out of anyone not invited to upset Bama. It is upside vs upside in these games.

Getting stomped by Bama in the CFP isn't a G5 thing. It is a not elite talent thing. Most of the P5's don't have what it takes either.

I think the better argument is would Cincy be in this game if not in a G5, not that being uncompetitive vs bama is a unique outcome that incriminates the G5 here.

They're pretty similar to about 10 other teams in college football, about 5 of which would likely also be throttled by bama, but all having a much great chance of dropping a game during the year.

Are we selecting the best 4 teams or the 4 most deserving? If you're doing the eye test as a huge part of the rankings, just go all-in on the picking the best 4 and say **** it to anything else.
