Michigan getting a pissed off and focused UGA tonight. Not great for them. LONG ways to go though.
Hard to see Michigan coming back 3 scores. They're not really built for that.

Makes one wonder about whether UGa took one for the conference in Atlanta.

Okay, doubtful as they'd want to win the SEC and keep Bama out of their way for a NC, but...
Just think UGA listened to too much of the "Rat Poison" as Saban calls it going into that SEC Title Game. Was "smelling themselves" too much.

Are we selecting the best 4 teams or the 4 most deserving? If you're doing the eye test as a huge part of the rankings, just go all-in on the picking the best 4 and say **** it to anything else.

What does this mean? Who picks the “best teams”? Whose eyes are doing the “testing”? If a team goes undefeated, including giving Notre Dame their only loss of the season in South Bend, why isn‘t it conceivable that somebody might think they are one of the four ”best”?

What we need are clearly defined selection criteria that aren’t subject to human bias, “eye test” or “I know they lost to Virginia Tech, but if they played them again I’m sure they’d win.” Team records, conference titles, maybe some kind of formula that’s clear and known to all programs before the season begins - that’s what needs to be used instead of a bunch of people sitting in a room deciding who they think are the four (or eight, or 12) “best.”

And then we‘LL just watch Alabama win the thing again.

Kirby just has a mental block to Saban like Campbell does to Ferentz. Similar to Coach Klein to Coach Red Beaulieu in the Waterboy lol

I laughed at everyone who overreacted to the SEC title game loss. It’s like so many forgot that aside from that game Georgia easily beat the hell out of everyone else, especially defensively.

Game isn’t over here, but this is why you don’t overreact to any curbstomping Alabama does to someone because they have the capability to do that to anyone on a given night. Georgia is really good.

1.) What does this mean?
2.) Who picks the “best teams”? Whose eyes are doing the “testing”?
3.) If a team goes undefeated, including giving Notre Dame their only loss of the season in South Bend, why isn‘t it conceivable that somebody might think they are one of the four ”best”?
4.) What we need are clearly defined selection criteria that aren’t subject to human bias, “eye test”
1.) The best four- which should incorporate upside and who is playing their best at the end of the season. We care way too much about some loss in the middle of the season when we make it a season trophy.
2.) The playoff committee.
3.) Because a one game sample is worthless. 18-22 year olds have variance in play, and only needing to get up for a fraction of your games is a big advantage of the G5. I don't care if one team went undefeated and passed their couple hard games while the other got upset. Go with the team that is better. Cincy is not better than Ohio St.
4.)Too much human bias towards this being about deserving rather than who are the best 4 when at their best is why Cincy is in imo. A model like Sagarin had them 6th and Bama 1st. A committee allowed to forget anything but who do you think has the best chance to beat #1 should be in.

Way too much emphasis on record in college football. In the NFL, teams like GB's 2011 super bowl team or Tampa's team last year wouldn't even make the playoffs. Yes, that adds value to the season, but it makes for a bad postseason.
