I honestly have no idea what this means. Go back and watch Oklahoma’s first offensive possession when Grill came in and get back to me.
Go watch the last 6 games and get back to me

His net impact on the game worst of any guy in the rotation

Gabe has been bad recently no way around that, but pretending we have some home run option ready to step in is false. Clearly TJ thinks his d and presence are still impactful. I love when Grill has good games as much as anyone but they aren’t consistent and some d liability still despite major improvement.

He’s reigned in his attempts, but he’s a liability right now

His shot is inconsistent. Against TT he had an airball and a side of the backboard. He’s like a golfer trying to find their swing every time out. Even worse, I’m not sure once he has a good game he won’t go right back to struggling
Debating searching your post history to look for how many times you called for a backup qb. Gabe has been bad I would limit his minutes right now but guess what this team isn’t filled with talent they are over achieving you give backups more minutes and there flaws will be exposed.

At least you've moved on from the "home run option" strawman. Clear sign your contention is **** and based on emotion.

TJ is going to need to be more situational in his rotations and lineups

Gabe is longer and far more disruptive on the defensive end than eithet Caleb or Tre. That's what Otz wants, first and foremost. They will all have their moments.
But the idea that several on this thread have decided Kalscheur needs this ridiculous level of criticism is, well, ridiculous.

Caleb especially has really struggled defensively in our big 12 games

Yeah it's a little more complicated than 'bench him!' since the depth is an issue and I really like Tre and Caleb out there.

Love the team, it's just one big precarious situation after such a high level of success early.

his minutes need to be cut drastically. Who else in this team gets the option to “work through it?” His offense is atrocious and his defense has become questionable. Maybe he can “work through it” while he is sitting in the bench.

Rewatch the game. His minutes were reduced and I dispute the use of "atrocious." He's not a star, but he's a valuable member of the team and will continue to be needed. Like every player, he's got to work hard and improve.

I like him on the floor..He needs to be taking less shots per game though. Bad thing teams are going to sag off him and put more pressure on our scorers. TJ just needs another recruiting cycle to get the roster to full strength. The way this staff is coaching that's very exciting. TJ kind of reminds me of a young Tom Izzo.

I like Grill a lot but segments of our fanbase have always had some kind of unhealthy obsession of him imo

His value is spreading offense when he is on hitting threes. Was cold against Baylor. Defensively not the quickest but has some length. I don’t get the obsession either.
