Too early to get down on Gabe. Given the offensive struggles of this team the only player on the roster I trust to be a go to guy is Brockington. Jackson is probably #2 but can't count on a true freshman to be consistent. Enaruna has gone cold since his 23 point effort against Baylor and on the season has just 4 games he scored double digits. Grill only has 5 double digit scoring games which is the same number Kalscheur has who is averaging almost 3 points more a game.
This offense is what we thought it would be coming into the season. We have exceeded expectations on defense which is going to keep us in a lot of games but if we let the score get into the mid 70's or higher we don't have the offense firepower to keep up with elite teams that are having just an average night.
The stats don't lie:
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/66 The light has to turn on for 1 or 2 more guys to take their game to another level if this team is going to finish in the top 3 or 4 in the conference. I think a .500 conference finish is attainable which should be good enough for a NCAA bid which is more than I expected out of this team coming into the season. If Conditt can stay out of foul trouble and establish himself as a scoring option in the paint and we find a consistent 3rd scoring option outside of Brockington and Jackson this team could compete for a top 3 conference finish.
