I like the look for Gabe but I think I would've liked to see Hunter take it to the rack. Hard to say though.

I think Hunter gets to take that shot at the rim later this year and/or later in his career, but kicking it out for an open three there was the right call tonight. Coach said as much in the post game.

Good god I hope we don’t wind up in the bubble looking at this screw job as a win that would have got us in.

Hunter took it as far as he was going to get. He had 2 defenders collapsing hard on him so kicking it out to the open guy was the right play. If Hunter doesn’t dish there, he turns it over, gets his shot blocked, or throws up some garbage circus shot that has no chance of going in.

Missed PI call on Isheem Young against Oklahoma in football immediately comes to mind. Vanderbeken shot against Creighton as well.
For the record there was no PI against Young… It was a missed hold on Eisworth trailing the play.

What was the JVB shot? I remember him hitting a game winner, but I was listening to JW and Heft so they seemed to think it was all good.

Yeah I don't get why you can review an elbow on a no foul call and then declare it a flagrant 1 but can't review a potential goal tend inside 2 minutes left. I'm not angry with the goal tend call as its tough to call that in real time plus throughout the game both teams usually get away with some other no-calls that had they happened late in a close game would have been magnified more. It's one of those things with all sports where sometimes I love the replay abilities and other times I wish we'd quit stopping the play so many times to over-analyze something in slow motion replay that didn't look like much in real time when it happened.

It's actually not tough at all to call that in real time. In fact it's one of the easiest calls. Everyone is looking at the ball and it clearly bounces before the block. It's one of the most obvious calls in basketball, and they made the very same call against us midway through the first half (Jones or Conditt I can't remember)

JVB hit like a half courter to beat Creighton in Fred's first year. Game wasn't televised so no review but was later shown to be after 0s on the clock.

It was a full second after the buzzer

You're right, it was Eisworth.

We played Creighton in Des Moines, and he hit a 3 at the buzzer but he clearly didn't get the shot off in time, but they gave it to us.

Yeah because there was no way they would have called a foul on KU.

The JVB shot definitely would have been ruled that he didn't get it off, but because there wasn't TV outside of Cyclones.TV? they didn't have replay to review it IIRC.

He was subbed out be because he is shooting 36% on free throws for the season.
We played Jones down to 24 seconds and if FT's were big concern he would have been pulled after Caleb's shot.

I doubt Jones would have touched the ball if he was in at end. Jaz has a jump shot in case the half court offense broke down. I'm sure staff was expecting a good shot to happen closer to clock expiring.

But we scored early and missed having a shot blocker when Harris drove for winning bucket.
