Really, neither one of them should have been a flagrant.
Exactly. The fact Tuco is defending Jones's flagrant kills all credibility he thought he had.
Really, neither one of them should have been a flagrant.
A flagrant 1 foul (men's) or unsportsmanlike foul (women's) involves excessive or severe contact during a live ball, including especially when a player "swings an elbow and makes illegal, non-excessive contact with an opponent above the shoulders". This offense includes the former "intentional foul" of fouling an opposing player to prevent an easy breakaway score. In women's basketball only, the unsportsmanlike foul also includes contact dead-ball technical fouls. The penalty for a flagrant 1 or unsportsmanlike foul is two free throws and a throw-in for the opposing team at the out-of-bounds spot nearest the foul.
Setting a screen is not excessive. He did not swing an elbow. He did not foul to prevent a breakaway score. It meets none of the criteria for a flagrant foul.
The ISU player swung his elbow during a live ball and made contact above the shoulders. Textbook definition of a flagrant.
Feel free to provide me some sort of rule book definition of a flagrant 1 in NCAA basketball that would define that play as a flagrant 1. I'll be happy to admit I am wrong if you can.Lol never change Tuco. You are truly one of a kind.
Did McCormack swing his elbow while in a standard screen setting position? I must have missed that."Swung his elbow"![]()
If the fix was in by the refs then the illegal screen by McCormack with less than a minute left does not get called. That gets ignored 10 times a game and could have easily been ignored once again.I never watch the 2 Kansas games live every year, I just get too worked up during the games after watching years and years of screw jobs down there.
I'm not shocked at all with the goal-tend, refs are completely incompetent and corrupt.

I’ll let you have your orgasm over that and pretend nothing else has happened for decades that benefits KU.Feel free to provide me some sort of rule book definition of a flagrant 1 in NCAA basketball that would define that play as a flagrant 1. I'll be happy to admit I am wrong if you can.

Jones lifted his elbow and hit the guy behind him in the face. How is that NOT a flagrant? Seriously, give me a reason why it's not. I provided the definition:Exactly. The fact Tuco is defending Jones's flagrant kills all credibility he thought he had.
you are such a f**king clown if you think he “swung” his elbow. He was going down the lane and quickly tried to change direction. Have you ever seen someone doe that with their hands down by their side? Have you ever seen any kind of basketball play where they have their hands down by their side? JCL was up in his body so much Jones barely had his elbow extended behind his frame? It was nearly parallel to his body.A flagrant 1 foul (men's) or unsportsmanlike foul (women's) involves excessive or severe contact during a live ball, including especially when a player "swings an elbow and makes illegal, non-excessive contact with an opponent above the shoulders". My guess is that he gets called for about 1 out of 3 of them, same as McCormack. It gets ignored all game, otherwise both teams would spend the whole game at the line.Ask George Conditt how many times a game that hip check screen at the three point line gets ignored.

Was it excessive? Yes, it drew blood.
Did he swing his elbow? Yes, His arm was raised and moved to the back (no it was not with intention to hit him).
Did the elbow make illegal contact with a player above the shoulder? Yes. Clearly.
This is a poorly worded rule that was a bad attempt to remove the refs from trying to determine "intent". Now they just say that if you raise your arm up and elbow someone in the face while in a non-basketball move that it is a flagrant 1.
Again, you are trying to determine intent. It doesn't matter what he was trying to do. The rule is "keep track of your elbows or get called". Period.you are such a f**king clown if you think he “swung” his elbow. He was going down the lane and quickly tried to change direction. If you are running down the court and elbow a dude in the face, it can be called a flagrant. It is dumb, I agree, but it is the way the rule is now written. And he wasn't running, he was starting to seal the guy out for post position so spare me that one. He was facing the side line, not the end line. Not many players I know run sideways. His arm moved in a running motion. Headbutting a moving arm should not generate a flagrant call.
He slid into Gabe and leaned his shoulder. A screen that hard gets called every f**king time unless your position is finely established and you’re totally straight up.If the fix was in by the refs then the illegal screen by McCormack with less than a minute left does not get called. That gets ignored 10 times a game and could have easily been ignored once again.

LOL get your KU glasses off and rewatch that play. Jones stopped and his momentum caused his elbow to go backwards. He didn’t swing his elbow that’s just the way his body was moving. When you’re 6” taller than someone your elbow is going to be face level to then almost all the time. That’s not a clear flagrant and shouldn’t have been called a flagrant. It’s 100% a judgement call and the refs got it wrong. JUST like they flat out missed the goaltending call.Jones lifted his elbow and hit the guy behind him in the face. How is that NOT a flagrant?
