Even if they decided to become vaccinated now, they wouldn't be fully vaccinated for five weeks*. That's practically the rest of the regular season.

*3 weeks between shots plus two weeks after final shot. Unless they were to get J&J, and I don't know how easy it is to find J&J anymore

Right. They made a bad call that will continue to have various repercussions.

Yup. Put em in a bubble. The coaches had to know this could well happen. But what do you do?

I mean, regardless of opinion on covid measures it does just seem like a poor decision for any college/pro athlete to not have gotten it when getting the shot is easy, safe, and could avoid issues like this. Especially for the pros who have big money on the line, it's just bad business not to.
This was my primary thought.

My wife and I are empty nesters (boosted) who've been extremely careful and we both tested positive a few days ago. There's no escaping this virus. Just a matter of time. Does not bode well for the rest of our season I'm afraid.

Lexi does many of the same things on O as Ashley does. She loves to drive and attack.
It's easier to do that sort of thing when teams have to keep one eye on Ashley at all times.

I expect this game to be a slog offensively for ISU. It's just too easy for teams to pressure our backcourt when you don't have Ashley to double down low.

Yeah, with the isolation down to 5 days, players are coming back after missing 2 games at most. Just bad timing for Texas, but back to full Saturday is a good thing. A few days of rest for Ashley isn't a bad thing either...

seems like people are picking and choosing which parts of CDC guidelines to follow. If ending isolation at 5 days, the next 5 days are to be masked. Not likely in a basketball game. Whatever.

Even though I'm vaccinated and within the 90 days of recovering from my own case, I will definitely be wearing a mask tonight . . . and maybe even sitting in the balcony away from the crowd.

Just following recently amended (January 7th) Big 12 protocol.

For quarantine of unvaccinated it is : "All other individuals must quarantine five days and must test negative before being permitted to resume team functions."

We sat in the balcony too last game. Still a great view. Looked crowded and few masks where we normally sit.

WI men had a couple of players do this in a couple of games.

Maybe for you but obviously not to those who haven’t gotten vaxxed.
