Please, people, keep on topic - and by that I mean away from the cave aspects of COVID. You all know what that means. There are people who will want to know this information and they might not get it if this thread ends up in the cave.

Frankly, the way it is going maybe ending up in the cave would be best.

Personal decisions have consequences. The consequence of this decision is that the team will be extremely shorthanded tonight.
So I‘m curious. Would people have been okay if Fennelly kicked them off the team at the beginning of the season for not being vaxxed and went for transfers? To avoid this apparently disastrous team chemistry mess we have on our hands now?

I'm curious what you think is "bad fandom" from this thread? If they were vaxxed they'd be playing in a top 15 matchup. Because they aren't, we are playing shorthanded. It's just facts.

This disease is everywhere and the vaccine will not stop you from getting it. I know, I am vaccinated and had it last week. With symptoms. And spread it to the family despite being vaccinated. It is coming for everyone.

Disparaging athletes because they didn't do what you want so that a sport you care about would remain unaffected is the definition of selfish. You don't care about the sisters, their health, their reasoning. You only care about what happens on the court.

This family deeply cares about ISU. You don't think both sisters weighted reasons both for and against? Why do they have to explain themselves to you?

The situation sucks, we can all agree on that.

So far, people in this thread have said the Jones sisters:

Are selfish and irrational
Made a bad call with repercussions for the season
Made a poor decision
Made a bad business decision
Are irresponsible
Let teammates down

And all of that is uncalled for, not helpful, and insulting

Anyway, back on topic here. Playing short handed will be tough with the Longhorns on ball pressure. Luckily we are an outstanding free throw shooting team, which allowed TTech to steal one in Austin.

Texas does start a Center and Forward, so maybe we’ll see 2 of Kane/Jordao/Vick on the floor at the same time.

Moderation reminder - keep the topic of this thread to the ISU WBB and the game tonight.

If you want to debate the vaccination rules, efficacy or anything else COVID not related to the game tonight, please go to the existing thread in the Politics forum

Which I think is funny because I think it was doing a good job (by CyFan standards at least) of staying on topic until someone came in and made up that the Ashley and Aubrey are being "disparaged".

Nothing I saw crossed a line. By not being vaccinated you knew you could put the rest of the team at a competitive disadvantage, which has come to fruition here. Their choice? Absolutely, and to each their own. But there's no denying that this choice has put us in a tough spot tonight, which is a fair analysis if, from nothing else, a basketball standpoint. And I absolutely think it's fair game as people who are invested in this team to wonder how this situation may play itself out as the season transpires.

This is the hopeless optimism I come to CF for.

It’s a personal decision. I know multiple people on medication to get pregnant because they got vaxxed. There definitely are reasons. Maybe some people wouldn’t weight those as heavily as others but again it’s a personal decision. Everyone’s going to get covid, if you‘re worried about the symptoms get vaxxed.

I'm sure you think you do.

Someone please screenshot these replies and send them directly to Ashley and Aubrey

Some really wonderful fans in here
It's a public forum. If a student-athlete wants to find out what's being said about them they already know where to go.

On the bright side is throws Texas’ defensive plan out the window. They are going to see something they haven’t prepared for. If our shooters are hitting and we attack inside we win. If our shooters are missing we lose
