To be fair, today was actually very productive and a sign things are moving in the right direction. I didn’t think the season would start on time, but I also didn’t think the MLBPA would immediately eliminate their demand of less than 6 years of service to be a free agent and put a huge (70%) cut in their sharing agreement demands. They’re showing they’re willing to play ball. If the MLB isn’t a bunch of dip ***** for tomorrows meeting, I would be shocked if everything starts on time.

But I also realize asking Manfred not to **** something up is a big demand.

Rob Manfred is the biggest ******* on all of sports. It’s a shame he’s just a puppet for the MLB owners and has no balls. Just does whatever the owners want and has no respect for the players, himself or the fans.

So that’s it for Bonds right? Unless the players committee voted him in later?

I don't feel bad at all for Bonds, Clemens or Schilling. However, I do think of the three that Bonds belongs in the HOF...maybe? Bonds was so damn good for so long...but he changed the style of his game when it came to using. Clemens though...kind of a different story to me. He looked to be done when Boston let him go or certainly heading that direction. His numbers were not at the levels of his early part of his career which were phenomenal (possibly pitched too much...his inning totals would make a modern day pitcher throw up)! But Boston knew him best...and they thought he wasn't worth the contract extension. Then suddenly he bounces back for another 10+ years. Again, I just don't think Clemens would have made it much longer...Bonds didn't need to change his game to fit his ego...continue to play his early style and he was a lock. Hate all three of them though so maybe I am jaded when it comes to this topic.

If you’re gonna call the Baseball Hall Of Fame a museum you have to honor the history of the game. Steroids were a big part of baseball in the late 90s and early 2000s and they helped grow the game because it made baseball exciting to watch for more casual fans. Bud Selig is in the HOF and as the commissioner at the time made exponentially more money because he turned a blind eye because he knew how profitable it was for players like Bonds and Clemens to perform like they did. They both deserve to be in the HOF but some of the writers want to be the gate keepers of purity when purity was gone from the hall a while ago.
