The latest bracketology on ESPN has ISU a 7 seed. Other 7 seeds Texas, Colorado St, and IOWA. Can somebody explain to me how we are so low in seeding right now? If you compare resumes between us and those teams, it really is no comparison. Iowa has 0(!) quad 1 wins vs 6 for ISU, 1 more loss, and a worse SOS. Makes no sense.

The committee had nothing to do with the information that you've posted. Explaining an imaginary seeding is beyond my brain power.

ie. It means nothing.

He's trying to mimic the committee. Maybe he just sucks at it...

I see. So we're confused that Iowa, who had only one out of conference loss (to us) and is in a similar spot in their conference (which is only one tier below us) has the same seed as us.
You're really oversimplifying it here and you know that. Using those two things in a vacuum doesn't work.

He might be spot on also. We don't know...and neither does he. It's irrelevant, at this time, and is purely for entertainment.
LOL. Okay? A message board is only for reaction, not speculation? I swear, you guys are something.

Palm's latest (I hate him but on this particular version of his bracket...and the teams in question...he's spot on). Iowa State, Texas, Iowa, and Wisconsin on NET are all either too high or too low...the four biggest outliers some say.

According to Palm, he sees their NET is wrong too and is seeding them where honestly I think they should be as well. Iowa State (5), Wisconsin (2), Texas (10), and Iowa (11)

This one seems more realistic - I have a bunch of Hawkeye friends that will not bet me that Otz gets to the second weekend before Fran does. If they know basketball at all - they know.

Is this your first year watching college basketball? Let me introduce you to a thing called "resumes". Iowa State has a much better profile overall.
Did you watch basketball last year? Oregon finished with a grand sum of two Q1 wins and - shock - still got a 7 seed.

I'm still not sure if we're more confused about our 7 seed or Iowa's 7 seed right now.

It's Lunardi. He's not that great of a bracketologist. Bracket matrix has ISU as a 6, Texas as a 7, and Iowa as an 8.
That makes more sense as of right now. Too soon to worry too much as there's more than 10 games left and a lot can change.

If Iowa even makes the tourney they will be closer to a 10 or 11 seed by the end of the year.

Yet Oregon, who had 2 Q1 wins and got a 7 seed, was only #58 in the NET. So you're actually helping the argument that the NET does, in fact, cause confusion for certain teams like Iowa this year.

Fox Sports' latest I could live with as well. Iowa State (6), Iowa (9) getting Zags if they won their first game.

I have to think there’d be at least a bit of a wake up call regarding WCC vs what we’re going through for 19 to 21 games without a single game off.

I think it's reasonable to argue Iowa being lower strictly based on resume, but their metrics (BPI, KenPom, Sagarin) reflect a top 25 team.

In terms of moving us up to a higher seed, we would also need to move someone down. Who are we knocking off the 5 or 6 line to do that?
