It's hard to win games when your three bigs combine to go 1-7 for 2 points and 5 rebounds in a total of 47 minutes played. Not to beat a dead horse, but Kunc 0, Conditt 0, Enaruna 2, Jones 2. That's pretty sad. How we have won the games we have, is beyond me, so I will give big credit to this staff for being where we are. On the other hand, while there are variations off of this offense I think, I still don't see why we can't have a 2nd offense once and awhile with some post up of guys just to get it in the paint and back out, etc. to mix it up. If nothing else but for fouls. We go to the line less than most. Having said that, I'm not at practice- so apparently over the course of months, the coaches at practice must not see one guy that can make an impact there. j
Once ISU gets some better forwards into their system I think they will be back to the type of offense they had under Hoiberg but with the better defense that Otz is running. He upgraded the team big time from last year just by instilling a better approach on defense and adding some good individual scorers. Brockington doesn't pass enough but at least he gets buckets. When Otz gets another cycle of recruiting or two, I fully expect ISU to be right back up to the top tier of the Big 12.
