Yeah everyone knows that everything in China is either censored or surveilled. I mean they have the "social" score card that can keep people from travelling. The real crime was that the IOC rolled and let China host.

I have about 30 people in my life from Taiwan, HK and mainland China. Half lifelong friends and half coworkers. Sorry for real issues, especially for my HK friends. Others were already talking about her so I thought I'd point out the most obvious issue that she's arguing politics untruthfully on platforms the citizens of her country are banned from using.

You’re so off the mark here. I root for non USA Olympic athletes all the time. I was rooting for Hirano last night to win over both the Australian guy and Shaun White. He was easily the best one out there and deserved it.

Gu deserves any medal she gets too, but her story is completely different.

I had the weather on when husband came home and before he took off coat or got the dog to stop jumping on him, he switched to the Olympics. He is just nuts about it. I can watch curling or hockey or something but subjectively scored things drive me nuts as do the schmaltzy human interest stuff. I have gotten more reading in and said a lot of uh-huh randomly when he seems to want some response to his Olympic mania, but looking forward to it ending. Hopefully it doesn’t conflict with Super Bowl, I guess maybe I can watch that on my phone if I have to.
