I get the point about guard play, but even if you have advantage/great guards, you can't give up 30 pts. and 15 reb. to Murray. An athletic defending team at the wing/forward spots might be more important.
Which TCU has. And I understand what you’re saying. But some teams may be okay with Keegan getting his as long as you play well offensively and don’t let Iowa make every 3, it’s a wrap.

Look at last year with Luka, who’s a better college player than Keegan. Athletic guards, allow the star to get his, and just shred the defense. Iowas defense is still poor, they’ve just been playing teams that are either bad or have played terrible.

Can you name any team that made any sort of a deep run in the ncaa tournament with no guard play?

Iowa has Murray, stats say he is terrific. But Iowa lost at Penn state, Fred didn’t even do that this year.

Keegan is terrific. He was the only reason Iowa didn’t lose that game by 10 against PSU. But yes you make a good point I can’t think of many teams who’ve succeeded in the tournament with limited guards.

We haven’t even talked about the fact that Keegan could play not as well as he should. If that happens Iowa gets routed.

It will be interesting.

ISU didn't do anything crazy to make him work and they only made it halfway interesting because Bobo threw some **** up and ISU started telegraphing passes out front.

When was the last time Iowa played against a good defense?

There are three teams in the B1G that are top 40 in KenPom defensive rankings (Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois) and Indiana is #19.

For reference, the Big 12 has 7 teams in the top 40, 3 in the top 10, and 5 higher than Indiana.

It's a defense optional league.

Like I’ve said, other than they played Iowa State, I’ve literally seen small parts of maybe 4 other games. I just don’t want the spurs to draft him, we have enough of those types of players, only more athletic

Everybody knows that the B1G doesn't play defense.

The last time the Hoks played a good defense was against a certain Big 12 team last December.
