Top 10 team to start the season. If that’s not a national championship contender idk what to tell ya
Delusion in a blowout.

No one disagrees with that. Clear as night and day though that McDermott was consistently subpar with 14-16 wins per season while Prohm discovered a new rock bottom for Iowa State BB after inheriting a team which was peaking. It's not about defending Prohm is just that his time at ISU was better than McDermott's.

That team didn't play enough defense to win a national title but there's no doubt they were Final Four level as the ceiling. They returned 2 first team all Big 12 players, and the reigning defensive POY, to go along with 3 other NBA players as the other rotation guys.Delusion in a blowout.

He was good and one of my favorite Cyclones, but let's be relastic , he's the 7th best player on that team.that team that started in the Top 10 also had a semi-healthy Naz Long

Kansas has had a semi-healthy Remy Martin all year and it hasn't seem to affected them as they started in the Top 10 and will finish there.
Anyone that ever believed this was ever a top 10 team is a ******* idiot.Top 10 team to start the season. If that’s not a national championship contender idk what to tell ya
So he was admittedly worse? Thanks for proving my point. As fans usually how it works is when a team is really good, then returns all those players while adding a player like Burton they usually expect to be better next year. That's not even taking into account the improvement 20 year Olds are expected to take in the off-season and another year to get experience with each other. You guys act as if Steve had is 0fer season in 15-16 when he was right on the heals of what Fred did.
Add Burton, lose Hogue and BDJ, have Naz go down early in the season. That season ISU had Cooke and Ashton in the rotation because they had zero depth. So he was admittedly worse? That's doesn't always happen the way we would like(ISU football this year) but that's generally how it works when setting expectations and goals for the next year.
So pretty much every cyclone fan and most around college basketball that year?Anyone that ever believed this was ever a top 10 team is a ******* idiot.
Gonna apply that same standard to football then?Top 10 team to start the season. If that’s not a national championship contender idk what to tell ya

Is this a football thread? Didn’t think soGonna apply that same standard to football then?
What in your post wouldn’t apply to football? Is this a football thread? Didn’t think so
Everything. Really dumb comparison. Bama and Clemson run CFB with UGA and OSU close behind and the rest of the pack isn’t even close. There’s much more parity in the top ten of CBB. You might as well have made your counter example cross country or tennis. What in your post wouldn’t apply to football?
Lol. I was doing fine without you helping me make my point.Everything. Really dumb comparison. Bama and Clemson run CFB with UGA and OSU close behind and the rest of the pack isn’t even close. That team was Final 4 ceiling and Sweet 16 floor with that much returning experience and talent. They were ranked #7 in the preseason, so obviously alot of people knew the potential.
And before you talk about Naz, yeah he missed the season, but teams regularly only go 6 or 7 deep. He was a good player but if you think about it he's probably the 7th best player on that team.
