I’m

I totally get that it goes far more than production, scouts go far deeper into things. I just look at Thompson and I’m extremely unimpressed.
Gah, he can't run in the NFL...first big hit will break him like a pretzel. Take away his running ability due to the injury tendency and you have a below average pocket passer...he is lucky simply because the class is so weak this year.

Didn’t he just comeback from major knee surgery last year like right before our game with them? That has to move him down the board considerably alone.

Ridder's going to eventually be the gem of this class.
I like everything about Ridder except his long-release. Given the gulf in talent between Cincinnati and the rest of the American the past few years his film profile is maybe more similar to that of a high-profile blue blood QB. It will be interesting to see how he translates.

Agree. In addition to his physical skills I get a very mature vibe from him, married with a kid at 21 isn't easy but he seems to have handled it really well, he knows what and who he's playing for.

I'm hoping Strong is there in round 2-3 for my Lions to take. Address other needs earlier, then potentially take a QB of the future
Wow…I thought I was the only person in Iowa who admitted to being a Lion fan.

Understandable but I would imagine it is looking at it more from a pro potential than collegiate achievements. Thompson is slightly bigger and I'm spit balling but might have a comparable rate of interception/turnover or slightly better.

I'd have Purdy ahead due to Thompson's injury concerns and the like but I can understand the logic - I think. Unless they're looking at something else like how we ll he looks in 7 on 7 then IDK

Seemed like Thompson had the offense revolved around him more than Purdy.

That's not to say Purdy was some sort of product of the system but he needed other things going well.

True to a degree... I think the offense was designed somewhat around Thompson but also in the NDSU mold .... Personally I wouldn't take either with the idea that they were going to start or be a long term answer at QB.

Both I think can be serviceable pack up types who get a spot start here or there but I think IMO that is probably the ceiling for both of them

I am surprised how old he looks. I found a picture of him online standing next to Tuberville and I thought he looked like a peer. Then I saw this was his HS recruitment photo. Yikes.
