I know it is 2 1 seeds and a 3 seed, but so far so good for the Big 12. Hopefully that bodes well for us, TCU, and I suppose Texas.

Looking better than SEC so far. Doubt Tech would have lost to Peacocks.

Not sure Iowa/Richmond is the huge upset people think it is. Tired or not, Indiana looked really bad. About half of this field just won a Conf tourney or played in a title game, it's not some rare thing. Need to see Illinois/Purdue/Wisc before saying anything on Big Ten.

I hope ISU fans never get to this level of craziness.

The one and done model is catching up to Kentucky. Cal could easily get the Kansas types that stay for multiple years but he's all in on one and dones and he hasn't been able to build chemistry for several years now.

Based on the Ref-ing I've seen so far this tournament, it seems like a continuation from the Big12. Texas Tech will be poised to make a deep run and tonight's game might be ugly

Isn't Loyola joining the A-10 next year? This might be the last time we see them in the tourney for awhile.
That doesn't seem like a conference they will be able to dominate like they have the MVC.

As an NBA fan it's the same with teams that try to build with free agents and trades. You look at the championship teams and dynasties, they build around good draft picks and supplement around that. You can trade for good draft position rather than constantly chasing star free agents.

I happens, Miami and LA have 3 championships from bringing in LeBron, but when you add up the championships built around drafted star players and slowly strengthening a team around them, it dwarfs those that didn't develop team chemistry from young drafted players.

Tricky thing in college is finding that sweet spot of guys who are good enough to be NBA players but not off the charts athletes that get drafted after 1 or 2 years. We were lucky to have two of those in Monte/Niang for 8 seasons between them, then we had two where the measurables go them drafted early with only 3 seasons between them, now I think we may have another one who will play 4 in college then possibly NBA in Hunter.

Loyola’s loss is their first ever in the Round of 64. They were previously tied With Tulane with most Round of 64 wins without a loss (3). Only other team that has never lost in this round is Northwestern. They are 1-0.
I don't know who you are or how you keep track of this stuff, but it's awesome and I love it.

It's ridiculous Chicago doesn't have a team that really dominates given how incredible the high school talent is.

DePaul never seizing on it really leaves a void. Baffling to me that NW and DePaul are usually horrible while Illinois isn't even ver consistent.

I would think it would be really easy to recruit at DePaul, they don't play way out in the suburbs anymore but still don't have a good on campus arena. I lived 6 blocks from DePaul for a few years right after ISU and it's a blast for a kid that age.

Even a program like UIC, you'd think you could get it going into something. Part of why Loyola's recent run isn't surprising to me, it's like a miracle so few teams are ever good.

The problem with Loyola was that they missed so many "gimmes" - especially in that first half. They make 4 of those, the game may have gone differently. BTW, I cannot stand tOSU!!
