Interesting that they don’t have the decision makers behind this listed on the website.

The link mentions the website is bare bones, but it seems important for people to know if their contributions are tax deductible.

I don't see a FAQ page. But using the terminology "Contribute Now" vs. Donate, my guess is no.

100% understandable that it’s “bare bones”… but I’d guess it’s not that hard to layout how/who gets chosen to get money from the collective and how much they will receive.

I don’t recall anything. They had me do a cat hoa but everything was basic.

They allow contributions as low as 25. So the same as two months of premium board access on cyclone fanatic.

Williams said the site is bare bones for now and will be further developed.

Greene said along with McCarney, former Iowa State men's basketball player Georges Niang is on the board. The board includes McCarney, Niang, Jason Loutsch, Ryan Harklau, Josh Rank and Greene.

It’s not. I’m looking for actual specifics.

This also states “will serve as a means to retain Iowa State athletes” - does this mean incoming freshmen won’t be offered an opportunity to make money from their NIL?

It state a couple of names - but list no specific names/process of who will be involved of making the final decision.

I saw that. That’s good since it honestly looks like they spent 5 minutes on it.
That seems like an issue and it also seems like an idea should be more fleshed out than we will give money to people to work with Unnamed charities.

A lot of good suggestions in this thread. A FAQ section will be important and honestly some type of running total of money received or money in the collective should public. I honestly think that would help the momentum.

It makes sense why the website looks so rushed - they wanted to come out early and be the first P5 school with a NIL collective so they moved fast.

Actually I am being told that we are already behind most schools as it is

I have young kids in youth sports and i think about how this might affect them. An unintended consequence of the NIL is now every parent who was gunning to get a scholarship for their kid, will now be thinking he or she is worth $200k as a 3 star recruit in addition to the scholarship. It's going to make the unbearable parents and coaches that much worse while continuing the downfall of youth athletics.

It will far exceed this.

Wonder if it will bleed into D3 schools at some point in some capacity.

Will be incredibly interested to understand how it gets paid out. Who decides which athletes get any or what percentage of the money. Is this just for basketball?

I think it’s naive to believe fans will be able to put a team on the payroll
