From the barebones site it seems like this is more of a retention idea than it is an acquisition idea.
My interpretation is that it is for current athletes. That's not saying that it can't be used in recruiting. They can easily tell players that they will have the opportunity to pick up some money doing work for charities. And probably list a bunch of examples. But they're not going to be in the business of making deals with HS kids to sign a LOI. I think acquisition-wise, I think if you are recruiting a QB, you can say "Our starting QB made $20k from the collective for signing autographs at the Special Olympics and another $20k in endorsement deals".

I think it is a noble idea. And a lot less of a slimy one than most schools are rolling out. I'm planning to put some money towards it. That said, it's up in the air how effective this is going to be. I mean, let's say Jaylin Noel gets $15k to go work at the local food bank a few hours a week. If FSU offers him the same with no strings attached, how much of a deterrent is that?

If I were them, I'd work on hiring someone full time to not only coordinate charity opportunities, but also various endorsement opportunities. I don't know what the university has there if anything. CW would probably know. But I'd think it would be smart to have a primary contact for anyone wanting to do an NIL deal with an ISU athlete. And maybe even go out searching for those kinds of opportunities. I'm not sure how involved the university or AD can be there.

I liked the logo at the upper LH side of the website. It has some "Jack Trice" ghosting stripes. Not sure why all the logos don't have that.

Here's $25k to go visit these sick kids in the hospital on Thursdays before games, you know what you were doing before for free

Haha, yep. The whole inclusion of charities certainly alleviates the slimey feeling of this whole thing. /sarcasm

Don’t tell other people HOW to spend their hard earned money. Then to say just don’t follow Iowa state sports is just a ridiculous statement.
25 dollars is two months of premium board membership. If you don’t want to because of moral principles fine but if you are actually that financially strapped, I’m sure one of us can give a donation in your honor.

It does suck, but fans need to pony up or expect to start losing more games and recruits. With 3 starts catching bags our bread and butter suddenly got very expensive.

This is interesting. Better than nothing I suppose. The charity thing is very noble, and perhaps increases the number of people who feel good about donating. But I guarantee other schools (with larger funds) will not have any strings attached.

I think this will be viewed as a negative to incoming potential recruits.
