I imagine arm strength and decision making are knocks against him.

Unless you can predict an opponent's defense better than they can (Peyton Manning seemed to do this) you have to be able to throw past the third level.

Purdy will be a solid backup. He’s not going to be a starter but he does stuff well enough and is a high IQ QB that he is what you want in a backup.

People really do love to denigrate our players.
I’m not criticizing him. That’s what he is. He won’t sniff an active NFL roster spot. People like to overrate ISU players, then ***** when the don’t get drafted claiming it’s a conspiracy against ISU. He made a solid college quarterback, he won’t sniff an NFL roster.

They already drafted a TE

Well...son of a gun...

You're obviously right, and I remember seeing that UCLA kid's name on the screen last night.

I'll just crawl back into my semi-uninformed hole now.

There is truth here but there's also a very skewed perspective of players' abilities.

Think of the 'can't believe ISU lost to Tech and WV' takes when it was pretty clear there wasn't some huge difference in talent between the teams.

There is actual evidence that they do. Who is the last person drafted who underperformed their draft position. We can point to multiple in the last couple years who were undervalued.

Purdy doesn’t have elite arm strength but it is no where near as bad as people say it is. His biggest flaw is he throws off his back foot which is why people act like his arm strength is bad. He is prone to an occasional really dumb mistakes but he otherwise is a high IQ QB.

I’m not even expecting him to get drafted but I do think there is a decent chance he finds a spot.

Hakeem was a pretty significant bust. Most of the people on here, myself included, thought he was gonna be better that DK Metcalf.

For Brock, his ceiling is Chase Daniels or Colt McCoy. Long term backup, but never much more.

Was thinking this last night too. Seems like DK has shifted the narrative a bit too. Saw a lot more big WRs get picked early.

Not exactly sure.
Purdy has a weak arm, bad throwing mechanics, not a great decision maker and not accurate with the football over 15 yards. He’ll get an invite to a camp but that’s all the farther he’ll make it.
He sucked that much and we still won with him?

The perfect NFL career.

Although Daniel wins since he hasn't even passed for 2,000 yards total in 10+ seasons.
