Pretty awkward betting against a kid you're recruiting. Regardless AJ never strung anyone along. From the beginning Pro was his preference.

He didn't string anyone along. No one realistically thought he would show as well as he did for NBA teams. Good for him from a personal perspective. From the beginning though the expectation was he would end up at Iowa State. Things changed in the final hours.

Pretty sure grad transfers don't.
My reading of the rule is that grad transfers are not immediately eligible if they have already used their one-time no-sit transfer. Kelly… (checks notes) has played for 3 teams in the last 4 seasons. So in conclusion, who knows what the NCAA will do.

Grad transfers are immediately eligible if:

A. They have graduated
B. They have eligibility remaining

Something about the degree they’re seeking isn’t available at the current school may also be a factor but I’ve never heard of it impacting anything in reality.

That sucks that King had to sit so long and all these others can transfer and play right away and get thousands of dollars! Don’t quite seem fair!

He enrolled at Georgetown last fall which screwed him over. Can’t enroll in August and play at a different school the same school year.

We strung our selves along. AJ said from the beginning going pro was his priority.
Maybe. I guess he didn't know the pro route would be the ultimate decision or he wouldn't have entered the portal. Hedged his bets, which I don't blame him for.
