Also, I seemed to get a lot of hate for my Sean Roberts suggestion, but no replies. Do people really not like him?
His persona is corny as hell. Not a great fit for a Des Moines audience.

LOL you're expecting a lot out of this group to go that far.
If they don't hire a knowledgeable ISU fan it will kill the show and not survive.Pretty sure they won’t hire someone who is an actual Cyclone fan because there are some obvious choices they haven’t just picked yet
I haven’t listened for a long time, always wondered if he was a fool or just playing a fool. His persona is corny as hell. Not a great fit for a Des Moines audience.
Sean brings it on himself a lot though. Sorry but he has had a lot of moments where he should have stopped and thought about something before he kept talking because he has had a lot of stupid moments on air. Probably the funniest thing I've heard was the day Travis had him going for awhile that you had to pay to renew your marriage license every year. He literally went off the deep end ranting about it before they finally told him they were pulling his chain. Probably one of the times I laughed the hardest listening to that show.Heather is a good friend of my mom and have met her on a few occasions. Really awesome lady and fun to be around! I listen to The Morning Rush every day on my drive to work and honestly listen to the show. My biggest gripe with her, is how she dedicates a chunk of the time making fun of Sean for saying countless ditsy things, to the point where it comes across as bullying with the amount she does it and keeps piling it on.
I definitely agree he brings it on himself. Dude is really ditsy and gullible as hell. There's just some situations where it's like "okay Heather, time to lay off" or when it's totally unprovoked that's a little cringy.Sean brings it on himself a lot though. I've never understood why some here think Sean is this wonderful radio personality, he does have his moments but I think his airhead moments usually outnumber his good moments. I dont think Travis and Heather really bully him, it's more them playing to him being so gullible and seeing how long it takes him to realize it. At least he's a good sport about it and off the air the 3 of them seem to be pretty tight as friends too.
To be fair current management probably did bring Marty back as a contractor only like 5 years ago...I actually think Sean has a lot more to offer us all as listeners. He's like the actor who has been typecast into a role, albeit one that he plays very well. He is growing and evolving as a man. I hope he gets an opportunity to show it to all of you sometime. I love every single person on that station. I understand that you all are just listeners and are wanting to be entertained but I don't like how hateful a lot of the comments can get. Perhaps I am just being too sensitive too. Like every show or not, this market is very lucky to have this much local programming. Pretty much unheard of around the country in markets our size. So contrary to what many believe, the managers and personalities are not all idiots and are doing something right.
You are not being too sensitive. A lot of these comments are in poor taste. And to the "they don't have any competition" crowd, that could not be more wrong. With podcasts and audio books and streaming music services, there has never been more competition yet KXnO ratings continue to climb higher and higher by the year.

I agree with the size of what the DSM market is, we are lucky to have local programming. I'm glad you had Joe Stasi on your last night. I've spent many a Friday nights tuning into him and Loffelholz.
Hope maybe when your girls are off to college that you come back to the radio.
OK my bad. Maybe it was 1700 or Mediacom then. Ken must have left Marty then 5ish years ago. That's not true. Ross and I took over 7 years ago to go head to head with Marty and Miller. It's been well over a decade since Marty has been on KXnO.
Sage is great. I'm sure Chris can attest to it but financially (as in what it pays) I doubt that Sage would want to commit to that.Sage is great on the radio. KXNO should reach out to him.

I figured so.Sage makes more in monthly dividends in his investments than he would make in a year at KXnO.

Some good points here. Some of the shows go downhill into sophomoric banter. Cringeworthy at times but I need diversion and any Cyclone news.I mean this as no shot to you or anybody else, but I will admit I used to listen all the time to KXNO but I agree, those other options are what take my attention now. Part of it is I just have a lot different tastes now for what I consume - I don't think I've watched a baseball game in literally years. I don't care about any other instate programs. I don't care about beer or anything so when those guests come on I literally just tune out immediately. Pods on demand are just unbeatable now for me.
I agree that if the ratings are going up, they have to be doing a great job in management.
