18, but counting the CN Tower in Toronto as the Canadian space needle. In fact, now that I think of it, Imma give myself 19 because I've been to the original model for the Washington Monument, the Obélisque de Luxor in Paris.

Looks like 17. Counted the Everglades, but just drove through them. Had to Google Road to Hana. Been to Hawaii, but Oahu.

Mount Rushmore
Niagara Falls
South Beach
Grand Canyon
Disney
Las Vegas
Times Square
Everglades
Chicago River
French Quarter
Mall of America
Gateway Arch
The White House
Arlington Cemetery
Washington Monument
River Walk
Alamo

Kinda weird list. Why not sites like Gettysburg (been), Boston Harbor (not been), or Williamsburg (been)?

Fun that Times Square, Riverwalk, Alamo, and Las Vegas are all from ISU football games.

Twenty three plus:
  • Helicopter tour over the Road to Hana (and another helicopter tour that landed on a glacier in Alaska),
  • Wright Brothers' actual bicycle shop and Edison's Menlo Park, New Jersey laboratory both of which were relocated to Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan.
  • Edison's winter laboratory in Florida.
  • Golden Spike Monument in Council Bluffs.
  • Kalsow Prairie Preserve near Manson.

Seen 20.

Prior to moving out west I wouldn’t have seen almost any of the western things. A lot easier to check off the list if you’ve lived in different regions.

As a high school grad heading to ISU I had seen 5.

20.

I’ve lived and/or worked within walking distance of 3. Worked near the Space Needle, lived and worked near the Chicago River, and live near the Hollywood Sign (but working from home).

We are probably neighbors, I have hiked up to backside of sign from my place in Toluca lake.

Glacier is 10x better than Yellowstone.

Grand Teton right near Yellowstone is imho the best national park in terms of pure total # of outdoor activities and has a ton of wildlife too. Glacier is top of my list I haven’t been to yet.

It’s kind of random to pick 3 nat parks. I could see Yosemite as king of parks (since people have to pick the best of anything) but it’s 10-15 that are equally worthy of noteriety. There are plenty of places in CA and Utah (where I’ve been most) that are as beautiful as any nat park that aren’t even part of the nat parks.

It’s enormous. Stay in the park if you can. I didn’t but I would if I went again. It’s beautiful. Like a whole other world or something from Avatar.

Took this up there:

I should mention, beware of Grizzlies up there. About 20 min after I took this, I had a run in with one walking right down the trail at me. It turned away, thank god. But I about had to break the whole “leave no trace” rule and abandon my stained undies at 11,000 ft after that encounter.

Yellowstone is awesome, Glacier is too, and Grand Tetons. Yosimite is also badass but I haven't been there in 20 years. I have never been to Utah or the Grand Canyon which is weird. Besides Europe when my kids leave the house, it would be Alaska.
