If Kansas leaves the Big 12 for the PAC, who do you take back?

It seems far more likely to me that the big 12 poaches 4 teams out of the PAC to jump to 16 (after 2025) than it is that KU jumps to the P12. Especially if the Big 10 poaches a couple teams out of the P12 first.

PAC 12 money is not an upgrade, nor will it be in the future.
This. 76% of the population lives in the Eastern and Central time zones. There's a reason ratings struggle for west coast sports and it's not changing any time soon.

If the P12 moves FB off of PACN and engages Apple and Amazon in the bidding process, their per schools payouts will end up higher than the B12's. They will be even higher if they add R8 schools in the Central Time Zone and provide even more inventory for Apple or Amazon that would start at 11 AM CT and staggered through 9 PM CT kickoffs. They have 3 to 4 programs with more revenue upside than any of the B12 schools and any R8 school that refuses to engage with the P12 in potential expansion discussion is nuts, including ISU.
Kurtz is a moron. But then again, it would be just like Kansas to go to that sinking ship at the PAC.

More likely the Cali schools will look to join the B1G, because well MONEY. They essentially got half or less what every other conference got this year, they wont stand for that much longer. My guess this will happen sooner than later.
Everyone keeps saying the PAC and B1G deals are going to be announced but then they dont, makes me wonder if there is a reason. Like they are either not that good or their are some things going on in the back like teams moving that are moving the needle, ie., Cali schools to B1G, that are causing the delay.
If the Cali schools or some similar group jump to the B1G that will leave a group of PAC schools looking for a home, ie. the Big 12. Which would drastically change the dynamics for all the PAC schools, and both the B1G and the Big 12.
This would bring, the B1G to about 20 teams, the Big 12 to about 18 teams, SEC to 16, and the ACC to 14.
The SEC will want to increase its numbers to be on equal or greater footing. So it will look to adding from the ACC, and possibly a couple from the Big 12 at that point. Destabilizing the ACC, (whether they work a deal to wait until the media rights is over or come up with another deal with ESPN being they hold both deals will be seen), at which point the remaining ACC teams will look to join the B1G and/or the Big 12. Leaving the Big 12, SEC and B1G all with 20-24 teams.

Hes not as cut in with the program as CW is, even though he claims to be. He was a local sports radio guy in Manhattan. Now works somewhere else outside the sports industry in KC.
He just reads and reports click-bait news stories from internet media columns and reports, many of which are just speculation and opinion pieces and acts like it is inside info or inside sources he has. He has exactly ZERO inside information.
Then voices his Opinion on said internet column. He rarely if ever has any real facts or news beyond speculation, or other information reported on national sports news.
He is not a KS insider, at best he is a blogger that talks KState and Big 12 with a serious Kstate Bias. He claims a lot of things about himself that are vastly overstated.

Kurtz has absolutely no Big 12 connections. He literally just talks out his ass for an hour on the podcast.
For what it's worth Kurtz said it was ridiculous to think that would ever happen. All he did was read some message board ******** from a KU fan board. He wanted to present the arrogance of KU to the rest of the conference; his viewers.
The Rose Bowl is a sacred cow to the B10 and they likely aren't going to blow up that relationship by adding any P12 schools.
The new B10 deal will be disclosed this summer and how that deal shakes out will then set up the most likely available options for the P12 who is next in line with their deal expiring after the 2024 season. B12's deal expire after 2025.
Pac-12 implodes, the Big 10 would likely assume full control of the Rose bowl.
I agree if the money is right. The new B12 is a geographic clusterduck with over half the programs not being state flagship schools. Far cry from the Big 8 and the original B12.
