Interesting that MM grew up in WI, but didn’t have an offer from WI. Seems like our styles are similar.

Look upthread for braindead twitter takes from sour grapes Badgers.
There are two reasonabe explanations WI didn't offer.
#1- He played for team Herro, and the AAU coach is not a fan of Gard because of how that went down when Tyler Herro decommitted.
#2- Wisconsin was just dumb not to offer.
I'm guessing #1 is the reason. They didn't offer because 'his defense is bad' and 'the Big 10 is too physical for him' is absurd. Izzo didn't seem to think the Big 10 is too tough for him. To imply Otz, Tony Bennet, Izzo, and Mick Cronin don't value defense is just a bad take.
Boy, they were really bashing his inability to handle physical defenders, weren't they? I'm sure he has room to grow there, as do most incoming freshmen. It sure didn't deter even the NBA braintrust from taking lottery Holmgren.
I knew Herro decommitted for UW late and the fans reacted let's say poorly. Gard does seem like the type of coach who would hold grudges and could blame the AAU coach.

Honestly Milan's game is pretty free flowing and I can't really see him playing in the WI structure either. Plus Milian has a bit of cockiness to him much like Herro . Just never seemed like a logical fit for him IMO.
Not sure why other fanbases try to look at not having a WI offer as a knock. He got one from Marquette and his final 5 are better offers than the Badgers.
I never doubted TJ bringing high quality talent here. He’s an incredible recruiter. After last season, I have no doubt he can coach as well. This is all heading in the right direction.
Wisconsin doesn’t recruit their own state very well. I do think style of play also plays a factor.

Similar to how we lost Hinrich to Kansas. But it seems petty to hold a grudge over something like that. It has to be a headturning experience to be recruited by one of the blue-bloods.
