Not funny but.... Starting like my sophomore year in high school we were on of the first schools to start applying for early start dates so school always started the week of football two a days. Just brutal, you would practice from 6-8 and then go sit in a hot that didn't have air conditioning all day and then practice from 4-6. Man that was awful! Thinking back, it was impossible to get properly hydrated during those days.

Same with our youngest. We redshirted him because he is small physically and he turned five the first day he would have started.
That's probably for the best, especially for a boy. I was the youngest in my grade (July B-day) and it sucked, especially sophomore year when everyone else was driving.

My daughter turned 15 on the first day of her sophomore year last week. She has many friends that are a full year older than her that are driving everywhere. It's not near as big of a deal in KC as it was in rural Iowa, though. That car was my ticket to freedom.

I think the boy factor is a huge deal, too. Especially with him being tiny, and having attention issues.

Our daughter is also a summer birthday, but we started her just after she turned five. It is not a problem, and she isn’t quite as small overall on the growth charts compared to other girls. I don’t think it is as big of a deal for a girl to ask for a ride as it is a boy!

Daughters first day of preschool is today. I accidentally shot her in the eye with a nerf gun last night. Thankfully there is no black eye today.
This sentence kept getting worse until I hit the word NERF.

Hopefully she'll learn not to bring a princess wand to a gun fight next time.
