I do think that the afternoon drive will be a decent show. I know that I was critical of the 5-0 segment, but that is more my personal opinion. It will take some getting used to, but I'm glad they kept the program local.
CW really made the afternoon show because he always had discussion topics and kept things moving. Sean Roberts is better than what you heard on the morning show and he will do a good job. When Jared would be a guest on the Saturday pregame show with Sean, it was a pretty good listen.

That sound you hear is KXNO’s hr person hitting their head against the wall.

But why on earth do you ask something like that?

There is no HR boundaries as they talk about pron and adult subjects all the time. If there were they would have stopped talking about that stuff a long time ago. Honestly I don't find Travis as annoying as others here do and maybe that is because I am not someone who gets butthurt about what is PC or not. It would be even more boring if they had to be PC with whatever they are discussing. I actually think I'd get along fine with him over a beer, you probably wouldn't even tune into his show if he was PC all the time because it would be boring radio. I do think once Ross gets back it will be better because they have done the morning show together before and were fine and Ross will carry the sports talk and keep Travis on topic more.

Because it's Travis. He is continuously inappropriate, but insists that he's "just saying what people are thinking." He's anti-PC, etc. I've listened the past few mornings to try and give the new shakeup a chance. But I'm starting to realize Sean and Heather made The Morning Rush bearable for me. Maybe it'll be better once Ross is back, but ... I don't know.
Yeah, I remember him being really immature when I heard him years ago. You’d think it wouldn’t be hard for him to act like an adult, but then again, it’s Travis.

I’ll leave most of my thoughts on “political correctness” in the cave where they belong, but I will say this: if being against potential sexual harassment is being pc, then I’m completely fine with being pc.

I would not be surprised if he at some point says the wrong thing to the wrong person and there’s a lawsuit. If that’s the case, he and kxno will have no one to blame but themselves.

And he doesn’t need to act that. Murph and Andy don’t really act like that, and they’re a significantly better program

My biggest wish is that they would spend the 7:30-8am and the 5-5:30pm slots actually on sports. I'm betting that is the peak listenership periods. But then again, since that is probably peak time, they are going to throw as much sponsored segments during then, because bills must be paid.

They have their fair share of sophomoric humor. This Week in unnecessary censorship is a prime example.

As long as Travis does not run afoul of FCC complaints, he'll probably just keep doing his thing.

Not even just sponsored guests - between 4:30-5:30 nearly 50% of the time is spent on commercial breaks.

To me it just comes off as the same as most people are around people they work with and knows what kind of things may or may not offend them. If he was asking some random guest on the show that he never met this question it may land him in some hot water, but I would guess he knows the producer enough by now to know that asking him if he is a butt or boob guy its not going to offend him. Honestly that is pretty tame when you consider what a majority of guys talk about sometimes. No different than some of the inappropriate stuff most of us probably have talked about at 1 time or another with a coworker. It's all about context and who you are talking with at the time. Would I talk about some of the stuff I do with coworkers I joke around with all the time in front of some random person in the office? Absolutely now but in this case you also have to take it with a grain of salt because he puts on that schtick at part of trying to be funny any entertaining. When it comes to any radio or TV show my thoughts have always been if you don't like the content no one is forcing you to listen/watch it.

Ahh. The old boys will be boys excuse.

Also, if someone asked me about that at work, it would not be OK.

people that constantly say they are not PC and act like it is some major personal sacrifice are cringe.

He's almost always cringe. Also seems to think he knows it all & his opinions are the best ever. Thing that made me turn the station, though, are his damn intentional stutters - just drove me crazy constantly listening to that.
I had never noticed the stutters until it was mentioned in this thread before. Now I hear it when it happens. What makes you think it's intentional?

I decided to listen to the new show on my drive in and this is what I got from Travis who has some Iowa Hawkeyes podcast guy on:

"The offensive line isn't sexy. Fans don't care about the offensive line, they only care about QB, RB, WRs." And then proceeds to ask about Iowa's new center. 1) Are you that out of touch that you don't know that fans really care about line play and aren't that stupid, 2) if you really think that fans don't care, why are you asking about the new center?

At least he was talking about sports for once. I'm sure he's a nice guy but I'm not sure why KXNO cannot get someone local to talk about local sports...
Nobody wants to come out and say that Iowa's line was not very good last year and they lost their most important piece at center. Kluver danced around it as well... They were also RAVING about Iowa's skill positions which I thought was certainly a take...

If Ross is as good as most on here say he is, how long will he be able to put up with the other jerk and his bs?

Dude they do Soundoff on WHO after Iowa games... they are friends.

To me they sound manufactured/sound like he's trying to insert them to either slow down, or just change the way he comes across. It seems like someone once suggested that he try it on air cause it will make him sound better somehow? I dunno, just the impression I get.

Well my guess is that if your coworkers know you well enough they probably would not ask you something like that. I know there are certain things I can't talk about or will not talk about period around certain people that I work with that I know I can with others. And no I don't find myself asking any of my coworkers if they are a butt or boob person but I am sure there are certain things I've said or topics I talk about with certain people that other people I work with would not find appropriate if I talked with them about it. Kind of like the reason we have an opt-in/out option here with the cave just like you have the choice not to listen to a show. Some here just don't care or don't find the topics and the way people talk in that forum worth seeing or appropriate while others don't have an issue at all with it. Some folks just have thicker or thinner skin about certain things and what is or is not PC too. To each and their own, a lot of it is just the context in which it was said and the type of people involved whether someone finds something offensive or harmless. Hell there are people these days that get all butthurt if you call them "sir" or "ma'am" or "mr/mrs/ms/miss" too. To some that is a sign of respect to others for some reason they find it offensive. Another example of about how anything you say can be taken differently when put into a different context.

I would say Murph and Andy are "PC" almost all the time and keep my interest throughout their time slot. That Travis guy to me sounds like a pompous douchebag that I mostly definitely wouldn't want to have a beer with. He makes fun of little things in a "O'Doyle Rules" type of way. Definitely needs someone to keep him in check.
