I think Matt legit wants to see how the new B12 plays out before he does anything. Iowa State has the potential to be a top dog in the new P5 simply because we aren't living in OU and Texa$ shadows anymore. I think Matt sees this opportunity, and will want to take advantage of it.

As for this troll article.......

Nebraska is the football equivalent of Georgetown in college basketball. Amazing success in the 80's, 90's, and early 00's, but nothing now. The only difference between Georgetown fans and Nebraska fans is that Georgetown fans don't run their mouths all day and act like a bunch of arrogant jerks. Georgetown is also in a rough spot where they brought in a coach that was supposed to resurrect their program (Patrick Ewing) and he's been terrible but the program doesn't have the cajones to fire him yet (which is very similar to the Scott Frost situation).
The way that Nebraska has over-reacted and sling-shotted with their coaching hires since Frank Solich

*long-time college assistant > former NFL offensive "genius" tactician > fiery defensive-minded college assistant coach > older, mild-mannered former NFL coach from a P5 school > young hometown hero from a smaller college program*

I expect their next hire to be an older, defensive "genius" outsider with large-school experience. Hello Gene Chizek. Welcome to Lincoln!

This is just a poorly written troll by an iowa fan that's trying to take shots at both ISU and kNU, but written in a dear diary sort of way.

I might for the first time ever, root for Nebraska when they play Oklahoma. It would be so fun to watch the fan base do a 180.

After we have a great season this year it is going to be even harder for CMC to leave what he has built.
I do think this year will be a big indicator for Campbell’s future. If we can get a bowl game in a massive rebuilding season, it’ll show just how much Campbell has raised the floor at iowa state. If the floor is now 6-6 and a bowl game, I think that makes for a great case for him to stick around.

I guess I'm going to look at all of this now as a good thing. It wasn't that long ago that ISU was a place you came to kill your coaching career. With the CMC chatter to this team or that team every year, I think that stink must be wearing off some. So, if CMC does leave, we should be in a better spot to grab the next coach.

Massive rebuilding? The guys taking the field now were far more heavily recruited than the guys they are replacing. All we lack is experience.

That actually sounds like a decent possibility. I really hope Nebraska hires Urban since he's terrible.

There are so many ways to win with this:

1) Urban flops and Nebraska coughs up millions more and spends another 5+ years in purgatory
2) Urban kicks butt including annual Hok butt (1 and 2 could occur simultaneously)
3) Urban takes the job and then leaves after 2 years because his bursitis is acting up
4) Urban goes Urban and gets caught without SEC aircover getting Nebraska multiple years of penalties
5) and the list goes on....

I 100% will be. Frosty would have that going for him if he somehow doesn’t get shitcanned. We want that guy as their coach.

This article had to have been written by a 9th grader as a project for his school newspaper. Very entertaining and funny.

I legit don't think he cares about any of that stuff. I truly believe he wants to be at a program where he can leave his mark as long as he is fairly compensated.

I always scratch my head when Iowa fans paint Ames as small, lame, boring, etc. It’s the state of Iowa. Outside DSM, CR, QC… it looks very similar most places you go. You’d think a fan base who co-opted the importance of farming and made a lot of money peddling ANF gear would have more respect for the people and places that grow our food.

I guess we can’t all be from the sprawling metropolis of Iowa City or the Chicago suburbs.

The last thing the Big 12 needs is for OU to lose in Lincoln... From a national perception stand point we should all want OU to piss pound Nebby.

Just my two cents but I feel like the whole "rebuild" is overstated. We have a lot of talent in the two deeps but the covid year really messed things up. I think we win at least 7 games this year.
