Dari and Mel discussed the Cyclone Larry tweet, or was it a Facebook? Anyway, something about Iowa has 6 wins when offense scores less than 4. The rest of all college football is 1 - 17,653 or something like that since the 1800's!!!!! Thought I saw some discussion whether this is true or just making fun of Hawks. Anyway, on ESPN radio they presented it as fact.

Crazy. With podcasts, more direct sources of info on the teams you are interested in (like CF), etc I figured Gameday was a dying show.

Plus it’s another 2 hours of TV on top of actually watching football throughout the day. I can barely devote 4 hours to watch our game, nonetheless another 2 hours of ESPN talking heads talking about games I don’t care about for 1 hour and 50 minutes.

The whole network is a shell of itself and Game Day is even grabbing at straws.

They show lots of games, but their announcing crews are only getting worse so it's hard to watch.

I love Saturdays in the fall. I get up early, workout, then turn on GameDay for 3 hours to get me ready for a day of football. It's the only nonsporting event I watch on ESPN. Hearing about teams and players I don't know much about is interesting to me but I watch an unhealthy amount of college football.

I can’t be in front of the TV that long without going insane. I’ll watch our game and a prime time game and that’s it.

Getting out away from the TV is healthy but when it comes to some of the 'Why doesn't ISU just do that!?' hot takes it would benefit a few to watch more football teams to understand why.

This goes for other fanbases.

Yeah why not? It’s a football game. God forbid fans believe in their team. All the “poor us we’ll just f it up” crowd are sickening.

I don't think anyone is 'poor us' about it. ISU has had and has the ability to beat a decent team like Iowa and I think most people see it as such which has made the last 5 years so unbearable.

September trends for ISU football have yet to be resolved although last week was encouraging.

He’s been rough this morning. Is that what his podcast is like?

McAfee is a little bit of the hype man type, which conflicts with the other 4 on this show. It stands out some.

He gives off frat boy drinking his first beer vibes.

People like him obviously, maybe I’m officially getting old

I like his analysis when he breaks things down but then next thing I feel like I'm in Cedar Rapids 2004ish with Jagerbomb guy.

Let's not forget that this is only his second appearance on the show (the last was several years ago), and I'd imagine they are trying to figure out how to fully incorporate him. Plus his last TV gig was as an announcer for the WWE on friday nights so he's probably channeling a little to much of that energy.

He does have a bit of that frat boy, let's go chug some beers energy, but that's a little bit how he is on his podcast/youtube show and was (freely admitted) in real life for most of his 20s. It can be touch annoying at times. However, he does know the game pretty well and tends to get pretty candid interviews and stories out of players. Some

That said, he does offer good energy, will freely admit when he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, seems to get along well with a ton of NFL players, somehow got invited to be on the mothership's biggest program (despite pissing off the mothership earlier in the year where nobody from ESPN was allowed to be on his show for about a week), and built a fairly successful little media company.

I mean the biggest complaint I've got is that one of his producers is a Hawk fan and if you ever watch any clips on youtube you have to see that stupid logo occasionally.

With these type of sloppy conditions, it most certainly favors the Hawks. Hope I’m wrong…
