  • Fire Ferentz!
  • Ditch Petras!
  • The refs!!!
  • We need a new O coordinator!

Was this the same guy who said the offense sucks balls at the beginning then ended the call with I'm going to go puke I'll talk to you next week. :)

Brock was really solid in some situations. I think he will improve over season, still new to being the main man.
Yea Brock looks like our main back. He has a physical/slashing style. Reminds me a little bit of Montgomery.

But still think Norton, Sanders or even Silas have a role in this offense as a change-of-pace or situational RB.

I understand that players did make mistakes. However manning does not put our 1st year starter QB is very good situations at times.
Fumble at the 1 - we have a long strong QB why not sneak from under center. That’s his call
2nd INT - you just ran for 14 yards on the first play then threw the ball 3 times putting him in a tough spot and you’re right he made a bad decision but once again that’s your play calling putting him in tough spots.
I'm pretty critical of Tom, thought he was pretty good today. Sone of this stuff like blocked punts, fumbles, etc isn't his fault.

Now, my opinion, one side of the ball is generally very well coached and the other side struggles at times over the past few years. See if tgat can improve some this year.

In the first two games our offensive line had been the best of the Matt Campbell Era and at times in the running game are dominant. Manning is a decent OC, I have my criticisms (if we need 10 yards we will throw it 7 and rarely get the yacs).
People wanted him to throw the ball around and we tried and failed against a very good D. He made adjustments and we ran a lot more which was effective (which I think was a surprise).

UGLY!!! A win despite Manning
Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope. Coaches call the plays. Players execute the plays. If it all works more often than not we win the game. Given the number and quality of starters we replaced, 2-0 is an excellent start, especially when one win is against a stout Iowa team.

When did this fan base become so elitist? Getting the win isn't good enough? Now it matters how we get the win? I guess this is more Matt Campbell being a victim of his own success and raising the bar.
Seems there is also a general lack of appreciation for how difficult it is to win a game…or even execute different parts of a game. Every play has an opportunity for success, but too many people seem to look at a play and think everyone involved is incompetent if what they are able to see (open hole, open receiver…or even just making a perfect pass), doesn’t happen.

There’s very little respect for the fact that there is another team actively working to keep you from doing what you want to do…and even less for the human element. I assume not having played sports and/or video games are largely to blame.

Travis is appealing to the Walmart fans on sound off right now and ragging on Iowa State for not having “casual” fans. What a clown

Seemed to me the refs called a fairly good game. I thought they gave us one with the personal foul on #3 pushing out of bounds. The play was all but over and going out as it was but when he initiated contact they were still in bounds and the play was still live.

The offsides on us was questionable at best then tacking on the extra 15 seemed blatantly bad but probably a legal call. Does seem a bit aggressive for the circumstances but rules are rules.

The only question has been raised by others about how many players were on field and changing of possession. Although in fairness the offense doesn't run out onto the field immediately after a turn over. There is a media break and refs have to set the ball.

Is there a 'we can still win the national title' thread on one of their sites, started by someone calling into whoever Travis is?

Who's the people he talked to? His wife, his OC, Fran? If RB doesn't have possession when nose crosses goal line- not a touchdown.

I could complain about last ISU drive where ref picked up the flag on pass interference. You either saw it or you didn't.
Definitely didn’t cross he had he had the ball below his man titties.

Hines can't get out of his way with that kind of thing. I got it years ago and understand it, but he's out here on national programs basically shitting on ISU before this game this week. It wasn't pretty but he seemingly tries to be the contrarian beat reporter at this point.

KF is whining that he talked to people and they said "the ball crossed the plane" and "in the Big Ten that's a touchdown"....sorry Kirk the refs didn't think the ball crossed the plane.
That call could have gone either way, but Iowa had LOTS of opportunities to win that game and couldn't get it done. Kirk needs to have a talk with his offensive coordinator.
